Worst sports decisions on 19:13 - May 10 with 3192 views | Benny_the_Ball | Meanwhile, in the ladies T20 World Cup qualifiers, the UAE ladies coach, conscious of looming rain forcing a draw, retired all 10 batters after the openers posted 192-0 in 16 overs. The UAE needed a win to be sure of progressing so the coach employed the unusual tactic to force a result. They subsequently dismissed Qatar for 29 in 11.1 overs to complete a 163-run win. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c2e3k3xx7edo Smart tactics or cheating?

Smart. Seems silly that you can’t retire in T20 so they’ve effectively a found a way to do so which just wastes everyone’s time. Playing the 52nd best nation in a sport most countries haven’t heard of sounds like Middlesex playing a hungover village team so they were only realistically playing against the clock with a big score being chased. What does "retiring out" mean, Benny? Is it saying that you're injured?

Retiring hurt is one option, Brian. Usually applies to one person and is more common. In this case, it’s a voluntary retirement to force a result I would imagine. We also used to force the better batters to retire when they hit a specific score otherwise they would stop others getting much of a game in village cricket.

Worst sports decisions on 12:39 - May 11 with 2077 views | Tonto | Going back to the Surrey toss: its been a tactic in the county championship this year to prepare flat roads to nulify the Surrey seamers to get a bore draw. Its happened in every game not played at the Oval. Its the only waY to stop Surrey. As i type Surrey are 150 odd for 2 snd one of those wasnt a great decision by the umpire So given that, no it not the worst decision

Worst sports decisions on 18:36 - May 11 with 1695 views | Snipper | Ricky Ponting electing to field in the second Ashes test at Edgebaston in 2005 has got to be up there. He obviously thought the England batsmen would be demoralised after losing at Lords in the first test. England racked up over 400 on day 1. Without Ponting’s error of judgement, we’d have probably lost the Ashes that glorious summer.
