Limerick certainly had the best of the decisions. But can't say I'm upset that we'll see extra time. Fantastic game!

Fair play to them they are deserving Munster champions and will win it all now I think.Getting past Limerick today after falling behind in the penalties ( a joke to be honest but at least its not straight knockout ) and only having to win 2 more big games its looking like Cork's year and hopefully they pull it off

My Dad is a proud Corkman. Messaged him about the game and he'd got the day wrong (thought it was on Sunday) and missed it. Fair to say he's not happy about missing the game of the year.

He should be upset as most people are this premier event (Munster hurling Final ) should be played on the first Sunday in July not on a Saturday evening in early June .
It was some game though one of the greatest ever IMO and start getting red and white ribbons ready to hang on the Liam MacCarthy in July which should be September

I thought it was an average games in terms of quality, Bannerman.

Only 55% of chances taken.
Far too much fouling.
Far too little refereeing.

Very exciting, though.

Limerick still the favourites. Cork haven't won the only cup that matters in twenty years. Limerick are the experienced team, should they meet again in the Final.

I was actually happy with their attitude, Boston, because they can be inconsistent in terms of aggression.

Bless them . Another last minute sickner. When they go out they do it on a spectacular level .

I thought Mayo were superb today.

They dominated Donegal, for my mind the best team in the Country, on kick-outs and on finishing and they competed in every area of the field.

They came again, and again, and again, and again.

They had subs that didn't have the physique of Donegal but they never backed off.

They lost to the last kick-out, in the last thirty seconds.
Serious Team, Serious County.

Main thing is they are out Brian and I won't have to listen to my 'noisy neighbours' yammering on about how this is 'their' year. And they can't even blame the 'curse' anymore. Not enough to play well against Donegal and Tyrone, their breath-taking arrogance meant they did not turn up against Cavan and that was their undoing.

Both my parents are Mayo.

Yesterday was tough to take. The last kick of the game. Typical Mayo.

Take it from a proud Roscommon man close to the mayo border . There’s no love lost.
It’s mostly friendly banter. Mostly …

Same old story for Mayo.

Mum is from Swinford. When I was a kid my nan back there had mugs celebrating when Mayo last won an all Ireland. Sadly it is still the most recent success 😭

Happy we avoided Donegal, but Dublin looked damn good up in Derry. Cluxton on fire again, the machine purring nicely, O'Callaghan unreal, Howard imperious, The Smallies real leaders now, and serious movement all over the pitch. They looked as unified and as well coached yesterday as they were in their best days. Clearly the squad's not as deep, but they're a threat all over the park.

Won't make the game unfortunately. Shame - should be a great occasion.

Given they couldn't play Galway, Cork is the game Dublin would have wanted to avoid imo Brian.

Are all games from quarter finals onwards played at Croke Park?

Yes, the preliminary games are home games for the seeded teams.

But Quarter-Finals onwards are all at Croke Park for the season ticket holders.

I watched the highlights of the Monaghan-Down match yesterday and was really impressed by the forward lines of both teams. I think both of them are capable of going a long way in the knock out stages.

Said after the Monaghan-Louth game I thought Monaghan were really impressive. Think they will most likely get the winner of the Dublin-Cork game in the quarters Can't be Donegal or Louth, can't be Kerry (who must play Armagh if they win), could be Cavan, can't be Down, could be Galway. I think they'd be happy enough with that draw, I think they'd beat Dublin or Cork.

Very happy as a Donegal supporter but tough on Mayo yesterday. The draw would have taken both teams through & Donegal would still have finished second, but shows their mentality that after Mayo equalised they went straight down the other end and scored the winning point with the last kick of the match.

It was a bit risky as losing the ball could have given Mayo the chance to win and Donegal would have finished below them. The safe option was to kick the ball out and take the draw, but they obviously wanted the win and eliminated a difficult opponent from the competition at the same time.

I must also admit I'm enjoying the new rules as they make for exciting games.

Some of the rules are daft, like handing your opponent the ball when you are penalised for over carrying and 50 metres us too severe a penalty for arguing - 30 was fine. But without a doubt the 2 pointer has transformed the game for the better. Couple of weeks ago we (Sligo) were playing Kildare in the Tailteann cup. After 50 mins we were 15 points down. Before this year that was game long over and the last 20 minutes everyone going through the motions until the final whistle. Instead we kicked 5, 2 pointers and 3 singles to bring it back to 2. Still list but it made for a hell of an exciting final 10 minutes

I'd agree about the 2 pointer from free play, but I can't for the life of me understand the logic of having the chance to kick 2 points for a free kick following a foul halfway up the pitch where there's no imminent danger of a score. Bring down someone just outside the area who might reasonably have a chance of scoring a goal and it's 1 point for the resulting free! Nuts. There's arguably more point in having a 2 point chance from a 45.

That said. the rule changes overall have breathed new life into the football.
