York v Oldham 20:12 - May 20 with 6959 views | Daley_Lama | Called it! Said when they beat us 4-0 that, come the playoffs, their over-confidence at the back could bite them on the bum. 1-0 Oldham - keeper rolled it out to defender, he got mugged, 1-0 .

York v Oldham on 11:10 - May 21 with 3217 views | dawlishdale | Back on topic. Well done to Oldham. They really stepped up from their patchy form towards the end of the season. Can hardly believe how poorly York did on the night.
York v Oldham on 12:08 - May 21 with 3086 views | dingdangblue | Could really have been an Oldham v Rochdale final at Wembley on June 1st. Very envious of the video's popping up on Facebook today of the singing and post match player/fan celebrations. Ah well - we are not ready apparently.

York v Oldham on 00:54 - May 21 by Sandyman | Absolutely. But, yet again, mid-game pitch invasions by their "fans". It's happened so many times this season in breach of NL regulations. Why can Oldham get away with it? Where is the punishment? That said, weren't York projecting themselves as the next Wrexham? Oops. [Post edited 21 May 0:57]

Just got to Wembley. Who’s bothered if they jump on the pitch. Would you be complaining if it was our lot on the pitch or will you be happy clapping mediocrity again next season. Rather be jumping on the pitch then us losing to Southend again .

Well they’d all be gutted to get a three year ban for invading the pitch before Wembley for a start. The referee will undoubtedly include the pitch invasions in his report which could then see the club fined too. Do fans want to cost their club money?

If we got to Wembley I wouldn’t be bothered to be honest. Maybe happy clapping and being soft as a collective doesn’t get us anywhere. Oldham are a horrible club with horrible fans which is a benefit to them because they make noise and are passionate and don’t care. I’d love us lot to be like that proper horrible

You wouldn’t be bothered about fans being banned and the club losing money? Our fans were excellent last week throughout. Fantastic support from all over the ground and plenty of noise and passion. Unfortunately they can’t decide who comes on as sub or defend crosses.

"Oldham are a horrible club with horrible fans" We know, as you feel the need to keep telling us. I wonder why?

You are right Dale fans wouldn't be so concerned if we had won our games. So you are right to defend the actions of your fans. Did you get a ticket given that York is much nearer to Hull than Owdum is. An easier journey for you and all that

They were on the pitch early in the second half. Wembley was far from assured. I don't happy clap mediocrity so stop telling lies. You seem keen to break ground regulations. Why?

about time our fans lightened up a bit and weren’t soft. they jumped on a pitch not exactly killed anyone. As much as I hate them and would wish they went bust, that is proper

But they can decide whether to pay to go through the gates: average league attendance in 2023/24 was 2,746 average league attendance in 2024/25 was 2,474 A 10% drop this season and we finished 4th! Also this is the last season of the EFL parachute payment.

I think TVOS posted about this a few weeks ago and had the figures. Those are total attendances and he’d mentioned, like EllDale, about Oldham, York and Halifax being Tuesday night games. Home crowds had dropped a bit I believe. [Post edited 27 May 14:44]

And also losing our New Year's Day home fixture against Altrincham to the weather/pitch. Unfortunately, this situation isn't an exact science as there are lots of variables to take into account, as already mentioned. The average number of Dale fans at home in 2024/25 was 2254, compared to 2392 in 2023/24, so a drop of 5.8%. (Yet 7.4% higher than in the 2021/22 season!) We had an average of 300 away fans at Spotland in 2024/25 (354 last season), a drop of 15.5%. In our last EFL season, the average number of away fans at Spotland was 711. In 2023/24, we played 6 Tuesday night home league games , whereas in 2024/25 we played 8, including 4 on the bounce in March. Oldham, York and Halifax were all Saturday games in 2023/24 (aggregate crowd 13017, with 8616 Dale fans), while in 2024/25, they were all Tuesday night games aggregating 11513 (down by 11.6%), with 7572 Dale fans (down by 12.1%). Interestingly, Oldham's average crowd at Boundary Park has dropped by about 900 compared to last season, yet Southend's went up by around 900.

York v Oldham on 20:04 - May 27 with 586 views | EllDale | There could have been more for the Saturday game against Boston which was postponed before Christmas as well than actually turned up when the game was eventually played on a Tuesday in March.

Well, yes, although that is indirectly referenced in the fact we had 8 Tuesday night home games. Tamworth is another one; postponed on Saturday 30th November as they were in the second round of the FA Cup, then played on Tuesday 17th December.
