Great post and really insightful as usual.
Personally, and granted every team in the country and beyond would want this scenario, I would love to find a gem ala a Michu, Bony a Piro on far less wage. Yes that's one in a million. My only fear with McBurnie is, will he be the player we have seen in the past or a slight shadown of himself? At 29 and with his stats in theory he should on form. I would love to see Vipnotik step up, but I fear he will be a bench warmer this year. Realistically Yates goes and logically, a proven championship scorer and a favorite amongst the fans and a player who also love the club, having McBurnie back makes perfect sense. For McBurnie to thrive (or Vipotnik or Yates or Cullen) we need players capable of creating more opportunities for them. For creative players to thrive we need a solid midfield base. Both Allen & O’Brien need to be effectively replaced as a priority. Maybe McBurnie could be the answer but it’s all all a bit underwhelming if he is the marquee signing target for me. I tend to think that the primary reason we're looking to move him on is salary and the fact that we could probably sign two players for the same price. Sheehan clearly thinks he can play otherwise he wouldn't have been one of his go-to guys during our strong run in. |  |

Fair play to Fulton, he must be laughing all the way to the bank. If I was him I wouldn't be in no rush to move on and would see my contract out. Personally I think time is up for him. He brings very little to the squad on match day. 1 man of the match performance in years does not validate his worth. Sadly I fear he will will be with us this season. [Post edited 30 Jun 20:17]

I wouldn’t say headless chicken, he’s been good for us, but we look like we’re trying to go up a gear now and Fulton and Ollie Cooper are two obvious casualties of that.
I agree about how often he played. We had four central midfielders, played three in midfield and Allen couldn’t last a full game or play twice in a few days.

I spent quite alot of minutes actually watching him when he was on the pitch and believe me he was a headless chicken, was nowhere near the ball, when it was in midfield, he got in others players way, when he did get the ball he passed it to the nearest player, which was usually about 3 yards away
Yes he did get a tad better when sherhan took over but not much better, ateotd if we are to progress, we need to get rid of fulton, he will not fit in with sheehans and o'deas plans, plus his wages are extortionate for a player of his calibre, we could get 2 decent championship players for what he is on.

It’s 15k a week, which Steve Cooper pushed for. He rated Jay so much we even had gossip that he was taking him to Forest. Then Cooper saw what he had at Forest even at the foot of the league and that was the end of that.
