Feel for the fans. So horribly run. With these kinds of restrictions and potentially most of the players terminating their own contracts you have to wonder what will become of Wednesday? And, given these restrictions and possibly a total lack of players in Augist, how many points and places they will still finish above us?

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

i blame the EFL their FIT AND PROPER owners test must be pretty poor, the clubs that get run into the ground by owners and EFL do nothing and take no responsibility!
if i was OWLS owner i would blame qpr for spending too much and demand they get blamed!

Does anyone remember that Bryan Robson scandal/expose where he was basically the go between selling clubs to rich owners?

That model is now dead due to FFP or whatever it's called as you have more obstacles to just buying the leagues.

Feels like Sheff Weds are big victims of that.

Never really liked Wednesday, historically cause we normally lose to them but more recently because we lose to them and Barry Bannon plays for them but it's brutal and abysmal that an owner is allowed to do this. Laws/rules need to be changed to protect clubs

That's actually true. All time record is W26 D19 L35 and we've beaten them once in the last eight games.

Might be worth putting a fiver on Weds to finish bottom and beat QPR twice.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

And we aren’t allowed to spend what we have got to try and improve our club, but he can get away with running a club into the ground.Utter madness.

EFL should be sued by the relegated clubs.

My thoughts too. The fans always feel the pain of the poor decisions the clubs owners and boards make. And also, the staff that work for the clubs when they go bust or get laid off to cut costs .

I'm not sure what test can predict an owner doing this. I suspect it must be legally quite hard to stop someone buying or investiing in a club.

I think these things look ridiculous when you get a situation like this, but how to have regulations written down to prevent someone buying before it happens must be difficult.

I'm not sure what the answer is really. I wish there was a simple one.

I guess the horse has long since bolted but is it the German model where 50% is fan owned / on the board etc which must stop a lot of this sort of thing, keep prices down etc. That would be a change if any government ever appoints an independent regulator with real powers, that I would like to see them make,

Feels like they are tying themselves up in knots, every time they close one loophole clubs find another to exploit.
Biggest problem I see is the reduction in the number of players moving from the lower leagues in to the top flight. Stop premier league clubs stealing youth players and give clubs the chance to generate revenue.

We know that Championship clubs are largely loss-making.

A lot of the owners own multiple businesses that fund these. As soon as those businesses struggle then they run into difficulties keeping the whole thing afloat. The alternative is to generate funds with transfer sales.

Whilst are owners have been questionable in the decision making, we are lucky they have converted their debts into equity and not saddled us with debt.

You've got to feel sorry for Wednesday supporters who will have had no influence in the decisions made and yet will feel a lot of the pain.

Don’t like to see any club suffer and there go QPR but by the grace of God; but sheff Wednesday do grind my gears - certainly not humble in victory (goblin child Bannon goading Q block) or gracious in defeat (the grizzling that Lloyds last minute equaliser brought on was phenomenal).
