Let’s break this down a bit
Fernandes is absolute quality we all know that. If he stays we are going to have a hell of a player for the league. I think he likes it here but money talks. He has to be worth 50 million though surely.? Can you see anyone paying that at the moment ?
I have no doubt that Dibling will make the big time eventually but he needs a season in the championship where he can play every week , if he went to someone like spurs (I doubt they’d pay the money anyway as Levy is a tight arse) he’d be a bench warmer . Dibling worth 30-40 million ? who would pay that ? he hasn’t done enough yet .
The other players mentioned here are good championship players and it’s highly unlikely a premier league team would come in for them so they may as well stay at a club who are favourites for promotion .
However we all know that money talks with this club. The good thing now though is saints seem to be standing their ground over agreed sale prices . [Post edited 20 Jul 7:01]

I'm sorry. Fernandes is a very good footballer but fifty million?? No. He hasn't the track record yet. A good year with us and he could be made into a leader and in a year's time, a Premiership captain ready to drive Saints on.
Dibling has attitude problems. If he is too good for this place then he will be too good for anywhere else. I accept that his agent might be at the root of it but it is a team game and no misfit will be worth 30 million elsewhere. If he had got his head down and worked hard, it would be a completely different story but he has been the Next Big Thing for too long. | |

In a way you’ve kind of agreed with me .Dibling and Fernandes haven’t really done enough yet to get the big clubs really excited therefore I don’t think they will be sold in this window. Fernandes might not be worth 50 million yet but maybe Saints would put that sort of figure on him to warn others off.
I can see the likes of THB ,Aribo and Bednarek leaving to release funds though.

Really hope you are right and SR make up the relegation financial shortfall by selling Ramsdale, Bednarek, THB, Aribo etc whilst keeping the younger ones with potential Edwards, Charles, Fernandes, Dibling etc. Unfortunately, if we are still £70 million short at the end of August those will be the players that have buyers regardless of the managers plans. | | | |

Looking at today’s Southampton Echo, which is actually a decent read on Saints, it looks fairly likely that Bednarek will not be on the plane.
Whereas Charlie Taylor seems to be pretty highly thought of. Would be surprised if he was allowed to leave to join Norwich. | |

I've no real idea how Saints finances look or how much they need to raise from player sales and a reduced wage bill but I'll be surprised if it's much short of £100 million. Last time we sold Livramento, Lavia, JWP and Tella for about £140 million plus Salisu, Caletta-Carr, Perraud, Lyanco, Diallo and a good few loans to reduce the wage bill. We then used the loan system extensively ourselves for THB, Downes, Brooks, Frazer. I think we only bought Manning. Maybe it won't be as bad this time but I'll be surprised if Still can keep the limited list of saleable assets evenif he wants to. | | | |
