Reports of interest, fee to high, but Swans reluctant at this stage to match it. Could end up with a staggered payment offer if a bid does go in. Agent driven. News is that hasn’t happened, definitely a decent player, only 22.

Leicester must be favourites just received £9 million for Ndidi I'm not that struck on him hopefully as Keith says we are after better

Do Leicester actually want him apparently they haven't put an offer in, perhaps they want better.

Yes, Keith said the following in his latest report, "Jusef bid hasn’t happened, plus the Swans have better targets in discussion" (read the report) Thursday, 7th Aug 2025 07:00 by Keith Haynes :

"As we have reported this week Swansea City are also tidying up two potential signings which we believe are far better than this suggestion. One will almost certainly be announced, but not before the season starts."

Pretty much what he reports happens. Some of us need to learn to be more patient. I know it's hard sometimes with all the noise in the marketplace, but who are you going to trust, SI or FLW, or worse yet, WOL?

People have got greedy since the new owners took over from the leeches

They have to realise that we have to adhere to PSR.

Ateotd the leeches are gone and we seem to be in an upward trajectory.

I just hope it all works out for sheehsn in the next two months, he deserves a bit of success on the pitch.

Some of us, including me, are just getting a little bit restless at starting the season with the same strike force that finished the last one (Wales may get a more prominent role but that doesn’t look like it’s happening yet).

We’ll eventually sign someone and we’ll all chill out. As much as the priority has to be getting the right man at the right price, I just hope it doesn’t drag on until late in the window as has happened so often under previous regimes.

If I’d asked you at the end of last season…

Would you either expect or be happy to start this season with Cullen and Vipotnik as our strike force, what would you have said?

You’ve been nearly as critical of Vipotnik as I have.

Overall, it’s been a great window and these owners are a breath of fresh air. That doesn’t mean people’s opinions on our strike force aren’t valid.

You don’t need to get personal just because we don’t agree on one topic

Throw in Wales who I'm hoping will be a decent acquisition.

So am I, but he has only had short appearances in pre season, which suggests he will be eased in gradually, and is effectively a swap for Bianchini

Calm down.

You and several others on here expect to have a striker in now because the owners have been proactive.

Surely you know that decent strikers are like hens teeth, their cost is higher, thats why we are struggling to get one in before the start of the season.

If you read what keef has stated, we will have 3 more players in in the next 10 days and I expect one of them to be a striker.

If we dont get one im sure we will be ok, we have several players who can chip in with 5/10 goals and im hoping that vip will come good, he has shown glimpses in the previous season games.

I like the majority of jacks, most who dont frequent this site are not worried about the new season, its just a few like you.

It isn't personal, its an observation and an opinion.

Firstly - ‘it’s lucky most Jacks aren’t like you then’ maybe I haven’t read it the way you intended it. I’ve got thick skin, just didn’t expect churlishness from you.

I didn’t say it was easy to get decent strikers. I did expect it to be an area we had strengthened by now.

I’m not worried about the season, we’ve got a stronger squad than last season and Sheehan has had more time with them. I see it as an opportunity to challenge for top six with the right striker. I don’t think we’d be in any danger even with no more signings.

For multiple players to hit 5/10 goals, Vipotnik needs to improve his all round play. They won’t do it without a centre forward who doesn’t contribute a lot to the build up.

So would you have been happy starting the season with the strikers we have? Or would you have told me it was a priority?

Well you are coming across like a few on here, getting their knickers in a twist, which is unlike you.

You didnt say it was hard to get a striker in and I am not surprised we are struggling as there are less strikers for sale and more ups who want them.

Of course im not happy with us not having another striker in by now but we have over 3 weeks to get one.

I keep in touch with keef quite a bit and knowing what he knows I am very very confident that we will get a decent striker in, he has said on this forum that we are looking for a better quality striker than the Swedish fella that has been mentioned, if thats the case then we shouldn't be worried at all.

Looking for and getting are 2 different things. The owners can have the right intentions but still be outbid or find out a player just doesn't fancu Swansea.

I am settling for hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, the worst being not getting a decent striker.

From another angle, what if Vipotnik actually came good!

I guess it depends on your opinion of what we already have.

I'm not hugely concerned about going into the season with the same strike force that we ended the last one with as I believe them to be at least capable given decent service. J247 believes otherwise. That's fine. We've all got our thoughts.

Overall though I've never really seen the point of getting worked up about a transfer window until the transfer window has closed. The opening couple of games won't make or break our season, and plenty of people believe that it's a 2/3 window rebuilding job anyway. Not sure I agree that it'll take that long, but some do.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Maybe just a bit out if character. If that had come from one of the posters whose opinions I don’t really have a lot of time for, I’d have ignored it.

Just to put my view across. I don’t see anything wrong with bring delighted with the new owners and the overall direction the club is going and still being frustrated we haven’t got a striker in.

That’s all it is. I’m not slagging the owners or the recruitment department off. It’s more the situation we’re in is frustrating.

All I’d say on that is it’s not just about finishing. The strikers have to play their part in the chance creation. It’s very difficult to create a chance for a striker who can’t lose his man or doesn’t react until it’s a second too late.

If we do that, then there’s more than enough creativity in this team to supply them. Both of them can finish.

Rest of it I probably agree with. I understand PSR constraints and I shouldn’t be getting frustrated, but it’s human nature when you see likes of Hull signing McBurnie.

In my opinion, you should be concerned, we probably have the two weakest strikers in the championship, and have had for some time.

In fairness to VIP. He didn't get a regular start week in week out for at least 10 games, to judge him fairly. It cant help his confidence or form to be in one week and on the bench the next.
