Reports of interest, fee to high, but Swans reluctant at this stage to match it. Could end up with a staggered payment offer if a bid does go in. Agent driven. News is that hasn’t happened, definitely a decent player, only 22.

Yes.

Vip is ten years younger and I don't think we've seen anything like his best yet. He also scored more goals than Kieffer Moore last season.

Totally agree, Moore is only going one way but is going the other.

And I suspect vip wages over half of moores.

Not the last hour, we have been discussing it all day.

Give him a chance, he's just woken up and had to wash his p!ss riden bedsheets.

Does that mean that given the choice of having Moore or Vip up front for us, you'd choose the Vip ?

All he’s got to do is master the basics. It’s just a question of whether he can. Most do it years before they make the first team.

On the ball, he’s pretty decent. Off it, he’s abysmal.

Perhaps he should take some lessons off his international teammate 😉

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

All I’d say on that is it’s not just about finishing. The strikers have to play their part in the chance creation. It’s very difficult to create a chance for a striker who can’t lose his man or doesn’t react until it’s a second too late.

If we do that, then there’s more than enough creativity in this team to supply them. Both of them can finish.

Rest of it I probably agree with. I understand PSR constraints and I shouldn’t be getting frustrated, but it’s human nature when you see likes of Hull signing McBurnie.

That’s not always true though is it. Did Gary Lineker for example hold the ball up and bring people into play or was he just in the right place at the right time (I do
Mean the 6 yard box or penalty spot). There’s as many ways of playing football as there are skinning a cat.

I have a feeling that Widdell might have an excellent season and score between 10-15 goals himself. He won’t be depending on Vipotnik as he will be carrying the ball through fairly static Championship defences.

Bottom line - we have to trust Sheehan, the coaches and the club. If Vipotnik is as useless as you’re hoping he’s going to be by all means grab someone who will make a difference. Let’s see how things go up to the end of the window eh?

To be honest, I would feel pretty similar if Moore and Cullen were our striking options two days before a season started.

See the knives are out for the club about it. All the experts who'd never even heard of him a year ago who are now convinced that he's going to be the next Mbappe whining that we didn't pay the price.

Plenty of clubs with plenty of resources had a look at him. None made a serious offer until now. QPR are probably getting desperate.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

If he does turn out to be the next Mbappe our offer would have outstriped what QPR have offered.

As long as the game changing striker that’s been mentioned in articles signs, this isn’t really a big deal.

Two things we absolutely cannot afford to do….

Finish the window with the same strike options we’ve got now
Panic buy on deadline day

Unlike their predecessors, I’ve got a lot of faith these guys will get it right. The sooner they do the better for my blood pressure though.

I would say our current recruitment team place a maximum value on every transfer target and won't exceed it, That is prudent. Clubs now know we won't get messed around, we are honest and fair. We are forming a good relationship with clubs which will benefit us in the long run.

I call it common sense up to £5 million for a player whose only played 2 seasons at league 1 level and hasn't scored a goal since March 8th

That's why our offer was massively performance related, just common sense as you say. Our previous owners wasted so much money on crap players we are still paying the price. At last we have people with football knowledge making the decisions.

So no new striker as he's not really that good
And the Brighton fella stays put
Meanwhile, Cullen starts on his own at CF
To everything turn turn turn

Sorry I missed this at the time.

Gary Lineker is the perfect example of what Vipotnik can’t do. He anticipated where the ball was going and put himself in the right position for easy chances. He probably made ten runs that came to nothing for every goal he scored, but he consistently put himself in the right position. Vipotnik is constantly behind play. Surely you can see that?

Reading your post it seems you think being in the right place at the right time is down to luck.

Widdell - maybe, hopefully. We’d still be better off having a competent striker ahead of him.

To correct your last paragraph, it’s not as useless as I hope he will be, it’s as useless as he was last season. I hope he turns into a completely different player. I just haven’t seen anything to suggest he will. I could be wrong, Gyokores managed it.
