You do have to wonder whether this might actually be the last managerial job that he'll ever get, at least in the UK. Any club owner looking to appoint him in the future would do so knowing full well that their fans will be expecting him to fail and be against him from the off. Even at the lower levels.

He is completely torpedoing what little reputation he had left. Currently tenth in a two horse race. Refusing to even consider the possibility that he's the problem and not his players in every presser, his arrogance is shining through every step of the way.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

You’d think so but wouldn’t bet against it!

“Some have to drop their egos”. Oh, the irony.

Don't be surprised to see him as a tv pundit. The media seem to love him.

Quite possible, although the irony of Russy being paid for his "expert" opinions might be heavy enough to cause a dimensional rift.

I hope not because it’ll cost me a lot in replacement TVs. Every time I see him with that defiant jaw jutting out I want to put a brick through it!

I think he's even broken the Peter principle because he's been promoted way beyond his kevel of comoetence which, for me, is somewhere below a local league under 16's team.

he talks about ego's with absolutely no sense of irony and his comment about prefering to lose his way is the most egotistical, self absorbed comment I have ever heard from a Swansea manager.

I can't in all honesty call him the worst Swans manager of my time because Kevin Cullis was a thing, but if it wasn't for KC he'd be a contender.

I'd rather have Bob Bradley back.

90% of these so called expert pundits are failed ex managers who simply had no idea what to do when they were managers the latest being Rooney, so Martin should fit right in to that job lol

It's been a "Greatest Hits of Russell Martin" season there so far looking at the reaction of their fans.

Falling out with players? Check.
Players being used out of position? Check.
Players being accused of "anxiety" because they can't play the way he wants them to? Check.
Everything apparently being brilliant in training? Check.
Loads of possession but less activity in the penalty area than everyone they play? Check.
Defensive calamities week in, week out? Check.
Chucking his players under the bus after each defeat? Check.
A refusal to even consider the possibility that he's the one at fault? Check.
Letting the mask slip and getting techy with journalists who call him out on it? Check.

"It's the team that wants it the most", "Go out there and enjoy yourselves", and other useless cliches to disguise a complete lack of understanding of what's actually happening on the grass.

Cullis didn't last long enough to pit anybody off. Martin was here long after he deserved and even then, we didn't actually sack him.

Cullis was with us a week; Martin a lifetime
Cullis caused no damage and he didn’t have a legacy
Martin’s is still us and one of the reasons we still cannot attack lost fan
His mantle of mank was carried on by Williams , the second worse manager we’ve had

Swansea under both M weartin and Williams could not produce a team that couldR go head to head and be competitive with Premier League or top of the Championship sides. Swansea wets thrashed every time.

In the Jenkins era thrashings wets very rare. Blackpool Martinez. QPR away Rodgers Liverpool away Laudrup. Clement and Bob one or two.

It will be interesting to see if Sheehan ball can lay a glove in Forest. Recent cup surrenders v AFCB and Southampton are fresh in the memory. Match over in 10mins with no fight.

Ripped to shreds easily.

Sad thing is I think if he tweaked his system/philosophy just a little bit he’d probably get a load of success, but he sticks to this extreme style of possession at all costs risky balls at the back one interception and the strikers are through two on one on the keeper I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.
