Still's work on fitness seems to have paid off. Wrexham were tired late on, but Saints were still running and working.
Stephens seems to have answered his critics (including me). Let's just hope he can keep it up.

Yes. Helps if you can run about a bit. Win, goal difference, confidence. I'll be happy with that.

Still needs to sort out the defence and play our best forwards. We got away with that one.

I thought Edwards was very dodgy today.
Quarsie looked as if he was carrying an injury late in the game & limping, hopefully just cramp because he looks useful.
Didn't think I'd ever say it but Jack was our best defender today & then he wins the game for us.
Makes a change to win a game in last minute instead of losing it in last minute like last season.

Edward’s was terrible.

Quarshie looked ok/good.

I'd have said Quarshie was no more than ok. Some good defending and that tackle near the end def classy, but distribution was awful. But ok for a debutant so a 6/10 for me

Edwards did look terrible against Moore, a complete mismatch and his foul for the penalty was school boyish, hopefully first match nerves...

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

Fair play to all those banging on about the importance of experience. Stephens our best defender by some distance.Quashie and Edwards inexperienced against the likes of Windows and Moore. Manning and Fraser both showed up well and Manning's goal was class. Thought Charles and Robinson did well and Downes worked hard. Still waiting for the strikers to turn up.

Great win. Nothing like a last minute winner and pure relief. Could be a massive last minute three points come the end of the season.

A few things to ponder:

- What an earth was Edwards doing shoving their players in the back like that? Gave the ref the easiest decision ever.
- It is still such hard work to score goals. We powered all over them at the end but we need more firepower up front.
- A little glimpse into Will Still's "Just find a way to win" plan. He threw on all the strikers and got all our players in the box at the end to win the game.
- Great subs from the manager.
- A great win, brilliant at the end but it still feels such a struggle to scrape a 2 1 win. Hopefully things will flow more easily, as time goes on.
- The fans. It's really loud at St Mary's when the fans get going and there's something to cheer.

At the end of the game, WS said there is interest in quite a few of the players, when he was asked about whether Fernandes will stay. He said the team could look very different. HOW can that be the case? Apart from fernandes, who else would other clubs want from the team today? Why would the team look different? Armstrong, Charles, Manning might be leaving perhaps. Hmm

Just a shame that we had to rely on two defenders to score & win the game for us.
The front players have to contribute more.
I would not be disappointed if Adam Armstrong went, he just snatches at everything & has no vision of what's going on around him. We would not miss him both Archer & Diaz are better than Arma.

I’m going to concentrate on the positive rather than list the negatives.

IMO Stephen’s was motm. He made two great last ditch challenges to keep it at 0-1 and scored the last gasp winner. Plus he marshalled a very young defence

Bazunu made a brilliant save near the end when he’d had little to do all all half and like Ron11 said you could see our improvement in fitness because we were as fresh at the end as at the start

I thought Still’s substitutions were brave but excellent and I thought we got the win our play deserved against the 12 men from Wrexham

This was a potential banana skin against a team with a lot of momentum who have spent big and will surprise a few people this season

The important thing is we started with a win which is rare for us and the manner of the late comeback is a massive confidence boost after last season’s limp performances

Onwards and upwards, COYS

I agree Edwards didn't look comfortable out there, I thought Jack had a decent game, but the problem is that we lack a leader and organiser, the man playing that role at the moment is Jack Stephens and time after time we left men unmarked both on the break and at set pieces.

We truly need to get a leader

I felt we had too many defenders, leaving us light in midfield. Wood or a fit THB must come in for Edwards, if we must continue with it. Either that or we swap Edwards for a midfielder. Any chance Wrexham had came from the same ball produced from an unchallenged midfield.

Stephens should of told Edwards to leave the defender as he was baring down on the same defender. He also nearly gave a Penalty away.Having said that he had a decent game and won it for us in the end.
Nick, you are right he is the wrong man for Captain we need someone who can read the game better.
