In my opinion our best midfielder of the last 20 years Leon Britton shows that skill, mobility and awareness often outstrips physicality.

First of all , he wasn't a waif but a tough little player He also had support from more physical players He was exceptional and we've seen his like since I'm driving back today and hopefully back to watch us beat the Blades via the wonders of my vpn

Not true. Our promotion midfield was Britton, Allen and Dobbie. With Dyer and Sinclair either side. Have you got our midfield being powder puff waifs stuck in your head? Yalcouye has been compared to Kante and Franco is more aggressive and abrasive than any of the above.
Swansea City v Sheffield United : Match day thread on 11:04 - Aug 16 with 3271 views | Dr_Winston | Depends what your definition of our "promotion midfield" is. For the bulk of the first half of that season our midfield was mostly Allen, Gower and Pratley. Britton wasn't even at the club until January (his return is arguably when Pratley started losing his place in the side) and Dobbie wasn't a midfield regular at all until the Spring. We were certainly a better side with Allen, Britton and Dobbie as the central three though. If we'd played the Dobster at #10 from the start of the season I maintain that we'd probably have gone up automatically.

Ok, change ‘promotion midfield’ to ‘the best midfield Rodgers felt he had available the season we got promoted’ Point really is that you don’t need a midfield full of giants to compete.

Fortunately Fulton doesn’t play rugby.

Not surprised by that but am by Yalcouye starting. Not unhappy with that though. Too often in the past we ease players in instead of saying ‘get on with it’.

He must have looked good in training. Sheehan must want us to keep up a decent pace for much of the game, the bench looks strong.

Not at the game today unfortunately ….but most on here say we need a striker.
Swansea City v Sheffield United : Match day thread on 15:53 - Aug 16 with 2359 views | union_jack | Great game up until the water break. After that, pure pants. SU are there for the taking but we need an outlet up front. Someone with physicality and an eye for goal hopefully.

Swansea City v Sheffield United : Match day thread on 17:16 - Aug 16 with 1972 views | Fireboy2 | Great result, on another day we would have won that 4 nil, great to get the win though, it will have done them the world of good, all we need now is that elusive striker.
Swansea City v Sheffield United : Match day thread on 17:47 - Aug 16 with 1809 views | Dr_Winston | Oddly quiet match day thread. We must have won. Good battle. Went off the boil after the first half water break and we still dally a little too much in possession, but we were good value for the win overall. Can't think of any serious save Vigs had to make whilst we had 3/4 good chances. The more the players get used to each other hopefully the slicker they'll become. Already you can tell that Widell and Inoussa have an understanding.

Swansea City v Sheffield United : Match day thread on 17:54 - Aug 16 with 1751 views | onehunglow | Might have something to do with folk having stream blow up on 48 mins by Swine tv and not feeling comfortable offering comments Indefensible From what my aging eyes saw of it , we looked pretty good and the BrightonBoy looking dynamic With a striker , we would have mulleted them There is no need to hang on then Sheff Utd were surprising and no chance of them getting anywhere near play off on that showing Hamer is an obnoxious thug Last season they beat us by basically kicking us and we avoided that today so good stuff

Spot on, great post. Yes its weirdly quiet 🤔 Btw they didnt have a shot on target, the defence played well, didnt really give them a sniff, the new loan was calm and collected, he seemed to have plenty of time with the ball, it makes the likes of galbraith and franco job easier. Hopefully this new front man could be the icing on te cake 🤞

Not weird at all because thousands will have had the stream die If they did post then they would be ridiculed on here Don't look for division when there is unity We all want to do well This was a well deserved win and we will play far better teams Enjoy the warm evening

Swansea City v Sheffield United : Match day thread on 18:03 - Aug 16 with 1664 views | Whiterockin | My thoughts are we are definitely work in progress, the new players definitely need to get used to the pace of the league getting caught in possession far to often. Galbraith impressed me immensely and could turn out to be as good as O'brien. Yalcouye apart from an excellent run early on didn't do much for me, he's definitely got it but needs time to settle, possibly he would have been better off the bench. Burgess seems more of a captain than Cabango. I liked Widells directness, Inoussa I liked as well but both will need time to settle in. As I say we are work in progress but we have the makings of a good squad. As everyone knows we are just lacking up front get that sorted and we could be challenging for the play offs. All in all I enjoyed the game but we could have played a lot better, I didn't think we ever looked like loosing the game, I don't think Sheffield had a shot on target for Vigouroux to save.
