Not true. Our promotion midfield was Britton, Allen and Dobbie. With Dyer and Sinclair either side.

Depends what your definition of our "promotion midfield" is.
For the bulk of the first half of that season our midfield was mostly Allen, Gower and Pratley. Britton wasn't even at the club until January (his return is arguably when Pratley started losing his place in the side) and Dobbie wasn't a midfield regular at all until the Spring.
We were certainly a better side with Allen, Britton and Dobbie as the central three though. If we'd played the Dobster at #10 from the start of the season I maintain that we'd probably have gone up automatically. |  |
