One way to handle racist abuse on 07:52 - Aug 17 by trampie | It all seems over the top, sticks and stones, is swearing as bad as name calling ?, racist abuse is wrong, swearing is wrong, where do you draw the line, stopping a football game, walking off etc is that an over the top reaction ?, if not should games be stopped or abandoned for all manner of reasons ? |
Interesting post. I have wondered why you do not go all in like me. Ethnic slur chants. a) Condemn it Zero tolerance (Resolven) b) Condemn anti Black abuse but not anti Welsh slurs. Pretend it is harmless fun. Abuse the poster (me) (Max OHL SC). These are hypocritical. Two tier. c) Accept it is part of football which needs looking at but not enough to stop the game. The c) for you is worrying in a way and many Welsh people use it as a defence mechanism. In this way of thinking there is no zero tolerance and black people like Welsh people should just get on with it and not make a fuss. You therefore as a patriot like me can say "I do not need to go there and am not a hypocrite". Max and co are angry as they know their position is hypocritical two tier and illogical. "Do not think about the issue folks. The man in his shed in Resolven is nuts". For you consideration. [Post edited 17 Aug 15:05]

If you think it is illegal. Come to the stadium and report it when it starts, if nothing is done take it higher. You haven't got a hope in hell because it isn't illegal. Actually yesterday the chant was louder than ever. You may not like it, you may be offended, but illegal it is not. Racial abuse is illegal and rightly so and is dealt with, there is a difference.

It has legal presidency as seen with the Pakistani on the Welsh stewardess. This is the problem. Swansea city fans tolerate and engage in racial slurs. When the come on here professing to be offended at other people receiving abuse I call it out as hypocrisy. They laugh and engage in their thousands. A young women stewardess pays the price. A Pakistani who thought that he could racially abuse Welsh people with immunity has a criminal record as a racist. People argue it is just good fun banter. I posted video evidence that it was often far from that and in fact intimidatory violent and racist as with the Cardiff incident. You are suggesting I sort it out my self. I am looking around for supporters but all I see is Welsh people looking the other way. It smells of cowardice to me. I raised the issue with the club in the fan consultation.. Let's see if the club has moved away from "zero tolerance". If they gave not then action will need to be taken. It is coming because it is logical. You can run and deny it before logic catches up. I told you what to do, just do it instead of mouthing off on here if you have the balls instead of being a WuM keyboard warrior. If you feel that strongly you need to do something about it. There was a fans forum last week you could have gone and raised the point directly with Gorringe in person and had a reply. Why didn't you if you feel that strongly or are you just a coward mouthing from behind the cover of a computer screen.

Indeed, the irony here is he calls all those not supporting him as cowards when there is in fact only one coward here. The others aren’t made of cotton wool like you are Res and see it for what it is, harmless football banter.

Two tier Max Semenya was racially abused because he's BLACK. Not because he was called a childness name and chanted at, the fact that you can't differentiate between the two is because you don't want to, Why is that???? I was there when a banana was thrown at Garth Crooks and I saw it, the person who threw it was a clown, the laughter arose amongst sensible fans was because Garth calmly picked it up and started to eat it, which was a brilliant response to the clown who threw it at him. You won't agree of course because it doesn't suit your warped agenda and who you are! This is your first reply, "Is do not know why Swansea fans are bothered to be honest. They seem an insensitive bunch. Swansea fans love to engage in filthy ethnic slutr banter with the English far right generally seen as racist by the law. I put on a clip of 300 Bristol City fans in Cardiff city centre singing ethnic slurs and little old ladies scurrying way from them. Not one word of condemnation for this forum regulars. The slurs Swansea fans sing are insulting to me as slurs sung to Semenya were insulting to him. "Two Tier" s a popular accusation these days. Swansea city tolerate ethnic slurs at Swansea.com and the club no longer refer to "zero tolerance" from what i can see." So your first gripe was the first part, but being what you are you tried to twist it to the Cardiff incident, which nobody on here found funny so stop making things up with your normal twisted agenda I can see right through you pal! You might recall Ste me saying my dad used to preach on the Neath Vslley and my mum Used to sing in chapels She thought the people very friendly I've worked with many in the valleys and found them anything but friendly but I was a bit of a gobshite in those days and too keen on twisting people Almost chinned somebody last week in St Neots over a pub table we'd booked It's not easy being me

I should say I worked in St Neots and lived in St Ives. Know the river well but wouldn’t have swam in there. Those swans are bloody deadly. Lovely little town though, loved my time there.

Cambridgeshire a fantastic place to holiday. The Fens are very much underrated and for me better than the Norfolk Broads. Dinner outside this time of the year beside a river/canal/lake with a couple of drinks you can't beat it. In this country we are so fortunate to have such a variety of places to visit and spend time, but so few actually take advantage, how many from South Wales actually go to places like Cambridgeshire or The Lakes.

Think I know the pub. There was a particularly good India restaurant last on the right before the bridge. Always packed and the upstairs window seat had views along the river. Wonderful. Wonder if it’s still there?

If sheep chants are racist to ethnically Welsh people, should Ben Cabango have been offended yesterday?

Three or four years ago Swansea were the centre of racist incidents. Cabango Dhanda Obafemi and Whittaker. The club has a problem. Cabango brushes it off. He is Welsh and gets one for of ethnic slur every week. Dhanda was in pieces reportedly and the club offered counselling. Welsh football spends so much time patting themselves on the back and do not want to rock the boat. I have no advice for Ben. I advise the fans singing ethnic slurs will lead to trouble for others. They should stop. The club should ask them to if they claim to be "zero tolerant".
