Like the goal against Herenveen the assist vs Cardiff and his First Team goal vs Plymouth.
He's 19 and, for now, a decent squad player, probably not on big wages. That's not bad for this stage of his career.

15 years... is that some sort of cunning amortisation loophole Nourry has found, which has allowed us to buy a couple of strikers...

My sauces tell me it's 15 years but with an option to extend to life, with add ons including a contract for his unborn child, similar to a hereditary peerage.

I spoke to my cousin in KL, who moves in certain circles, shall we say.

Whoever said it's a 15-year deal is at best, ill-informed at worst, a fifth columnist... It's a rolling 12-year deal!

Plus, Bennie is guaranteed either: the CEO or DOF role, with liberty to take both should he choose. The club has identified him as the ideal long-term replacement of CN, when the latter is expected to take up the Archbishop of Canterbury seat upon turning 50.

Herbert Toil was given a 75 year contract in 1949 with a year extension, so Bennie could replace him alright.

we're a development club, he's clearly being groomed for the position of Head of Restarts in the 38/39 season

I think that's where I'm confused and differ from your view of him being a good squad player. He's been around the first team for best part of a year, but I can't tell you what his key attributes are. Within 10 mins of Morgan pulling on the shirt I could see he wanted to be on the ball and move it forward intelligently. Generally link up play and be competitive when required. Esquedina's ability to defend might be called into question at some point, but I have a feel for what sort of player he is from pretty much watching him against Watford. I have no idea how Bennie wants to play the game. He just seems to run around a bit without any real identity of what sort of player he is. I've deliberately not included the likes of Kolli here, as we got a chance to see him at other levels, so would be an unfair comparison.
When I see a player get up off the bench and stand on the touchline, I want to know what I'm getting and feel positive about the change it could bring. I just think what's the point with Bennie. Maybe he's around the first team too early, but two managers have now invited him to the table and I'm left scratching my head.

Maybe he’s just the vibes guy.

But yeah, I get what you mean it’s still not clear where he really adds value. He seems to strike a ball well, but our new specialist strikers do that better. So are we just looking at a right-sided utility player (not one to beat a man) who comes on late to battle and whip a cross in?

Definitely not a RB judging by pre-season. I assume he was given an initial 2yr deal that would’ve expired this summer otherwise, why extend it now? Maybe this is about giving him more time to develop into something useful whislt staying cheap.

Don’t want this turning into a sunk cost fallacy with some of these dev squad signings, keeping them around longer than necessary in the hope they eventually come good and vindicate the new 'World Class game model scouting database'.

Bennie has shown improvement, but in the position of either AMC or Striker.

Possibly we could loan him to L1 and then in 2 years collect £3.5m for him.
It's a strategy, you know.

Definitely a young player with development possibilities. He was 19 in April and can do a job in almost every position. Not signing him up risks another club spotting that potential and stealing him for next to nothing.

Obviously, he still has a lot to learn and the next couple of seasons should sort out his strengths and what he is most suited to. He has been mostly a wide midfield player (winger) and has decent physicality. One poor game at RB, doesn't mean he couldn't be developed to play there. Coaching and experience should provide the positional sense that he would need, if that was going to be his position.

Unlike a lot of our young players, he has some experience of men's football and doesn't easily get bullied. The difficult decision now is how best to get him minutes. If he does go on loan, I believe we need to ensure that he will be guaranteed games, he should play in one or two positions and that the club and coach he goes to are on a similar wavelength to our 'model'.

Archbishop of Canterbury!

Don't be daft.

C'est impossible!

Your family has to have been ridden senseless at one of England's best public schools for the last hundred years to get that job.

Presumably Bennie will made Lord Bennie of Earls Court when he turns 50.

It's probably his birthright anyway.
