I should have paid more. on 13:10 - Sep 4 by Flashberryjack | In normal times I would have expected MP's of all parties would be lining up to slaughter her, surprisingly, she has a lot of sympathisers. Could it be that be that a lot of MP's are just as guilty as Rayner, glass houses and stones, greedy b*stards. |
I posted earlier in the thread, that those high level politicians are in it for themselves, everything else is secondary.

I should have paid more. on 18:19 - Sep 3 by johnlangy | The 'family home' in Manchester is owned in trust by their disabled son. So as far as I understand it she has no financial interest in the house. She says that now the only place she owns is the flat in Brighton. |
It has come out that she used money from her sons trust to purchase the Hove flat. The same trust that owns the house she claims to be her sons and she previously owned. There is a lot more to come out with this.
I should have paid more. on 08:44 - Sep 5 with 2466 views | felixstowe_jack | Looks like Raynor lied. She claim she was given the tax advice by the firm handling the conveyancing. They say they used the information provided by Raynor to calculate the stamp duty due. They also say they do not provide tax advice. Wonder who we should believe. The tax evaders or trusted family firm woth a good reputation.

Starmer can sack her as housing secretary but her position as deputy pm isn’t under his control because it’s voted on at conference. So if he does sack her from her ministerial role she’ll still be sitying next to him and filling in at pmqs when he’s off gallivanting pretending to be a respected statesman. Her fate is largely in the hands of the unions. After being booted out of unite recently and her messy divorce with her union leader husband following a clandestine affair with another married MP her position doesn’t look so secure. I should have paid more. on 13:17 - Sep 5 with 2243 views | AnotherJohn | After the conveyancing firm denied providing tax advice, one assumes that the other two experts said to have been consulted did not step forward with anything that could help Angela Rayner. I suppose we could say her misconduct was on a smaller scale than some, but she was not aided by her record as a bit of an attack dog when it came to probity in government. What strikes me is that, irrespective of whether there was intentional deception, Ange has a track record of "winging it" with little regard for detail. That is not a positive attribute for a prominent minister. She had no choice but to resign.

Starmer backed her to the hilt. Did she lie to him or tell him the truth, either way his future should be up for discussion, poor judgment again. Builthie is very quiet, he normally rips into this sort of thing.

The Conservatives were bad but this Government is having a good go, anti corruption minister involved in corruption trial, homelessness minister making people homeless and housing minister not paying stamp duty. It feels like the incorrigible have been replaced by the incompetent.

I should have paid more. on 17:36 - Sep 5 with 1994 views | SullutaCreturned | My turn, she said she'd had addvice and followed it. Turns out that advice was to get specialist advice and she didn't follow it. That means she lied. Then she lied again to try and cover it up. it's all come out and at least she resigned straight away unlike some of the scum who've tried to ride out their corruption. I don't use that word lightly either, O personally feel it is corruption, she made a false claim and tried to blister through it but got vaught in the lie. Anybody who;s paid attention will know I dislike Labour and Tory. I gave Starmer a chance but it's not going well. The worst thing about all this is it is driving people towars Reform so if people think it cannot get any worse just wait and see. Vote for a local independent, someone you may know about who at least is honest. Going to Reform is madness, I mean Nadine Dorries has just hopped to them and that is blatant self preservation, self serving...she knows her last party are shot and has gobe to Reform purely because they rop the polls and not out of any good political motive. She's a parasite.

Incorrect she was voted as Deputy leader of the Labour Party by the Unions. The Unions have no power to elect anyone as Deputy PM. The appointment of cabinet members is done by the PM of the Day. When in opposition Starmer did try sack her as deputy Leader of the labour party but was stopped by the Unions. All a bit academic now as she has reigned from both. Wonder if she will be prosecuted for tax evasion.

I should have paid more. on 17:51 - Sep 5 with 1957 views | majorraglan | The landscape had changed significantly over the last 24 - 36 hours and based on the facts as they are now it is my belief that she should be now be referred to the Standards Committee do they can consider the matter. Her conduct has now been shown to have come up short of the required standard and she needs to face the consequences. If I were Starmer I’d probably want to see her suspended and deselected by her constituents because that’ll mean the end of her.

I misspoke. Deputy leader I should have said not deputy prime minister. That’s voted on by conference by the members and the unions have the power there.
