If we are going to move forward we will need recruit and improve over the next year or so. Particularly if the new signings work out as some could be sold and we would need to replace. Recruitment is a continual cycle and personally I don't think it is job done.

Totally agree. That job is never done. If players out perform expectations, we are likely to lose them to bigger clubs and will then have to replace, potentially with more money. Plus three of our first team squad are loans anyway.

But wasn't Montague the person tasked with getting players over the line. The big difference this summer is we signed players instead of just going in for them. How much of this is down to Montague.

Who are the loans? The defender from west ham , the defender from chelsea and the burnley winger? Other than that, our team has been put together with tidy players that are completely owned by us. In my opinion. This could be total restructuring before a takeover. We all seen the news the other day of the £50 million investment until we know more. I wouldn't be too worried about this situation as we've seen with the club over the transfer this summer's transfer window we are only heading in One Direction. Has anyone got any more information as this coming up as this coming out of the blue is a bit strange.

Actually forgot about Samuels-Smith. Make that four. Yalcouye is the other one. Not worried at all, just making the point that recruitment never stops, even though we’ve got the best squad we’ve had for years. Some of them will move on if they do very well.

Yes, Samuels-Smith, Yalcouye, Casey, and Benson. 4 loaned players.

I thought we hired Montague this past winter (right before Williams was canned) because of his research analytics program in identifying players he had developed and was using @ Nott City. If he were to go then would he take his research analytics program with him? Yes, I've also read in some articles that RM was responsible for getting players over the line.

I remembered Smith I forgot about the Brighton player. Looking forward to seeing how Samuel Smith plays , out of all our loans Yacouye is the most important. But Benson, if he could rediscover his form god alive we are in for a treat. I have seen a video of him cutting off the wing and smashing the ball into the corner. This goal was literally repeated four times all against different teams. He reminds me of a Ronald that loves hitting the back of the net . Saying that though if we had a Ronald highlight real of just a good point he would look un playable self. Compare to what the seasons have brought with loans we have actually done well as we have a squad. We don't have to rip down and start again with next season. The club of actually stuck to their word and only brought in players, but that value to the first team. For too many seasons, this was just a buzz word to keep us quiet. [Post edited 11 Sep 15:16]

If I remember correctly when Sheehan was up for the post there were all sort of 'options' being leaked to WoL and that seemed to come from Montague, given their occasional non-attributable attribution. I got the definite impression that Montague wanted his own man and that wasn't Sheehan. It seemed he wanted a 'keep it on the floor except for crosses' manager, i.e. Martin MkIII. I have been impressed by his work in the transfer market, but if it turns out it wasn't him getting the job done then I'll not be too sorry if he's gone.

Not really. Life goes on, Swansea City will go on and I'm sure the club will make the right decisions with his replacement.

Exactly, we at SCFC are sadly used to upheaval at the club, although I was hoping that we had a settled off the field team these days, such as it ever was I suppose.
