I remeber an Andy Townsend goal for Chelsea against us in a 2-2 draw, was a hell of a strike. Bloke near where we were sitting stood up to applaud and got some right stick afterwards, was a good goal though

Back then I think anyone applauding a Chelsea goal would have been suspected, quite possibly rightly, of being an infiltrator.
(Think I remember that goal, and yes it was a good one.)

I was going to mention that one. I don't think I could bring myself to applaud because it was them, but the thought certainly crossed my mind.

The only goal against us that i can remember applauding was Frank Worthington strike for Bolton in the late 1970's.
OMG. I remember that day. The snow had been falling all week ,the pitch was very icy. Most of the players on both teams had trouble standing up But Frank Worthington was magnicent his first goal was a blockbuster from 30yds , he then went on to score twice more in a 3-1 win.

I was going to mention that one - fùcking thing went into the top corner like it was laser-guided.
I dimly recall Andy Reid lobbing one in from just inside our half for Forest (before Spurs ruined him)
