Applauding a quality opposition goal 23:30 - Sep 15 with 6506 viewsnumptydumpty

See the Wrexham fans actually applauding Kone's brilliant goal against them on Saturday.

I think there have been a few occasions when I have applauded a goal by the opposition, just admiring the quality.

I think Jonjo Shelvey scored a worldie when Newcastle defeated us, six nil at Loftus Road. I did clap and say good goal.

I seem to remember a weekend when we beat Forest 4-3 and then Everton 3-5 and Les hot two hatricks in the two days over Easter.

Remember seeing half the Everton fans clapping Les s last goal.

Is it just me - anyone else done such a thing.....

Always watched from the East Paddock then and was there for that one. Great atmosphere as often was and still is for the night games.

Nice goal by Bradley Allen there too.

I remeber an Andy Townsend goal for Chelsea against us in a 2-2 draw, was a hell of a strike. Bloke near where we were sitting stood up to applaud and got some right stick afterwards, was a good goal though

Back then I think anyone applauding a Chelsea goal would have been suspected, quite possibly rightly, of being an infiltrator.

(Think I remember that goal, and yes it was a good one.)

I was going to mention that one. I don't think I could bring myself to applaud because it was them, but the thought certainly crossed my mind.

Remember seeing this goal on 0:50 as right in line with it in East Paddock. I think i might have briefly applauded it.

Smells like a trout farm in here

The only goal against us that i can remember applauding was Frank Worthington strike for Bolton in the late 1970's.

OMG.
I remember that day.
The snow had been falling all week ,the pitch was very icy. Most of the players on both teams had trouble standing up
But Frank Worthington was magnicent his first goal was a blockbuster from 30yds , he then went on to score twice more in a 3-1 win.

I was going to mention that one - fùcking thing went into the top corner like it was laser-guided.

I dimly recall Andy Reid lobbing one in from just inside our half for Forest (before Spurs ruined him)
