What's your favorite passive aggressive move? 18:06 - Sep 23 with 3575 viewsFDC

I have loads, being fairly petty. One of my favorites is replying to my own message with a ☝️(it'll usually be in my recently used emojis) when someone asks me something I've previously answered. Happy to hear tips for more.

It's a good one, but ideally you need to then mention it in passing to other posters so that they know

Saying “you’re welcome” when an expected “thank you” or “please” did not arrive; “excuse me, will do” when someone failed to say “excuse me”; “sorry I can’t hear you” when an apology is not forthcoming - all with polite sarcasm

I am usually not petty or fastidious, but there are truly obnoxious people around who gives not a care in the world to the people around them, and still feel other people owe them something

And then smugly/boringly telling other posters what a great tip it is - while apparently oblivious to the irony of doing so on a message board.

During the final years of my marriage, I managed to condition my bowels to take a shite late every evening. My then wife would start her bed routine by a bit of light kitchen cleaning, and that was my signal to go to the loo and do my business. So by the time her routine had reached the teeth brushing stage, I would be done and she had to brush her teeth in the odeur left hanging. Every single evening.

It the little things in life…

And my ex-wife and I are great friends, by the way. So no permanent harm done.

“Yeah, but what’s your point?”

Has to be said at least twice after getting an explanation.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

There is a management technique called "the 5 whys?". Basically if you come up against a problem you asked why, when you get the answer you asked why ect. So if someone says you can't do this because....ask why. That will say something like it's against policy, so again ask why.

Do this five times and you will either get the the core of the problem, or end up someone saying I don't know. Either way it's a brilliant way to wind the other fcuker up.

When someone says/asks something that is clearly stupid, incorrect, trying to pass the blame/get someone else to do their work etc, when you reply back with what is (hopefully) a rational & reasonable reply, finish the sentence with;

"...... do you agree with me or not?"

An old boss of mine used it and it left the other person unable to reply because if they agreed, it shows their original point was invalid and makes themselves look like a cnt and if they didn't agree it also made themselves look like a cnt, which they more than likely were. So either way, win/win even though they'll probably hate you for it!

That's a good one because ultimately when you boil down to it, the other person is just trying to fob things off.

I'd have thought good bosses would value people who are brave enough to disagree with them.

'With all due respect'
- I try not to say it because someone once said to me, when you say that you are basically telling someone they are talking $hit. Every time I have subsequently heard it confirmed it!

It's not about agreeing or disagreeing, it's about when someone is clearly asking you do do something that is unreasonable and lot of the time because they can't be bothered to do it themselves or are too disorganised so are trying to palm it off onto others.

Example:
Person 1: "I'm sorry this is late but will we still make it on time?"

Person 2" "I'm afraid that it is so late now that we have missed all deadlines and there will be a delay"

P1 "But this is really important"

P2 "if it was that important it should have been delivered on time, you have had 6 weeks notice. Do you agree with me or not"?

Yes, it's passive aggressive, that's the whole point of this thread!
