Elephant ๐ in the room. 06:04 - Sep 28 with 2381 views | Swans9 | It amazes me how bias some club commentators and fans can be. We all are loyal to our clubs but it is good to listen to other clubs views. Millwall just mentioned their manager 100 times during the game instead of watching the game. Their players saw the ref was indecisive so they went through the back of our our players 7 times and got no yellow. As for the pen it followed the ref inibility to make a decision all game.
Elephant ๐ in the room. on 08:00 - Sep 28 with 1341 views | jack247 | We donโt always manage the ref as well as we should. We had two very decent penalty shouts yesterday. Cabango should have been screaming at him after the first and we may have got the second. There wasnโt even a massive reaction after the second. Sheehan did talk about it in his interview, but weโve had two penalties and a good goal disallowed in two games, he needs to be hammering that home. Teams that are quite passive about bad decisions tend to get more given against them.
Elephant ๐ in the room. on 08:15 - Sep 28 with 1288 views | trampie | The elephant in the room is English officials officiating games between a Welsh team and an English team, I reckon it costs the Swans and other Welsh teams about 3pts a season, which could cost them promotion or cause relegation.

It's cost us 3 points this week, never mind over a season. Add in the penalty that wasn't given against Notts Forest. The other factor is how many yellow cards we get compared to how few fouls we commit. It seems way higher than the others.

Yet somebody uparrowed this racist crap Why is this allowed Mods Itโs openly offensive As for the Welsh league , we really do have clowns who would rather go to Bala for a game than Bristol For me though , Fffffflint and Connah s Quay Derby is a real draw We have nobody to blame but ourselves We started well than again gave the game away Disallowed goals true enough but ffs look at chances missed and needless soft goals gifted I ll say it now , as I seem to be the only one with guts to suggest that again choice of coach is the issue Thousands walked away and are staying away Both do with low wage, cold weather, rain, school holidays etc If the product is right people will firego much to go Itโs not right and they arenโt

Elephant ๐ in the room. on 10:02 - Sep 28 with 1002 views | trampie | Twice I've seen the 'real league table' and Swansea was bottom and Cardiff was bottom, obviously Man Utd and Liverpool were top. That only backed up my thinking not caused it, Welsh teams get a disproportionate amount of wrong decisions against them and much fewer wrong decisions for them than could reasonably be expected.

Elephant ๐ in the room. on 10:11 - Sep 28 with 962 views | trampie | Back in the day when Welsh officials were among the best in the football set up, Welsh officials weren't allowed to ref Welsh teams against English, only English refs allowed, that tells you something but the Welsh teams have no choice but to put up with English only officials every week.

A ref from Northampton isnโt going to care if Swansea beat Milwall. The overwhelming majority of English and Welsh people are bigger than that. I do think we arenโt vociferous enough either on the pitch or in post match interviews when we get bad decisions. That would have been a reasonable discussion, but it wonโt happen now because you have hijacked the thread with your xenophobia.
Elephant ๐ in the room. on 10:49 - Sep 28 with 873 views | RichardO | The season we got promoted under Rodgers we had decisions go our way repeatedly why maybe because we were deemed a far better footballing team and the refs giving us the benefit of the doubt sure as the season goes on we will get more going our way by virtue of the number of wrong decision so far this season. Bias yes but nothing to do with racism [Post edited 28 Sep 11:42]

Elephant ๐ in the room. on 11:04 - Sep 28 with 838 views | grabsplatter | We definitely need to be more vociferous with refs I'd say. The pull back on Vipotnic yesterday was so bloody obvious I can't believe the ref mlssed it, he was close enough & it wasn't off the ball so he must have seen it. Penalty & red card would change the match completely. Following on from the disallowed goal against Brum & the stonewall penalty against Forest in the previous game that's 3 consecutive games where a major call against us has been wrong, not debatable, just wrong. Nothing more than plain incompetence though.

Go on any fans forum across the world and they will all say that the ref was against them and when things like yesterday and last week happen, opposition fans say itโs rare they get those sort of breaks. But, yesterdayโs first pen denial was as blatant as can be and the ref should be pulled up by the appropriate authorities over it. Did he bottle it because heโd have to have given a red? If so, those are the decisions heโs paid very well to make.

And also, if weโd gone justifiably mental at it, the ref would have thought twice about not giving the second one, which also looked pretty blatant. Even after that, we were still a bit muted in our appeals. Every team will think the decisions go against them, but weโve had two obvious ones yesterday and a clearly onside goal disallowed last week.
Elephant ๐ in the room. on 12:19 - Sep 28 with 666 views | TheAlpineShrew | Surely this boils down to the law of large numbers, where over a period of time the decisions in favour and against even themselves out? Or is that too simplistic a view?

In the case of those 3 matches it's not just views on a fans forum (yes we're obviously biased), all 3 matches were on TV & in all 3 cases the pundits view was that the ref got the decisions wrong at our expense. I was at the game yesterday & I can't remember the 2nd penalty shout being mentioned. The ref in the Man Utd game got it half right, very similar incident to ours but he gave the penalty & only gave the defender a yellow.

I call in you to criticise Swansea fans singing ethnic slurs every game and the Bristol city 309 who sang ethnic slurs for a hours at last seasons Cardiff game and attacked Welsh drinkers at the Station. I actually do not believe refers are discriminatory to Welsh teams and this is because my views are balanced.

The guy flew in recklessly and cleared him out. No contact at all with the ball' In the Brentford Man U game there was a similar incident to our first penalty shout with the defender pulling back the United player. Result, red card and penalty.

But the officials are generally incompetent and inconsistent. If they were any good in the first place we wouldnโt need VAR.
