COOK 20:46 - Oct 4 with 1234 views | gazza1 | Starter or sub..........for the next game against Millwall on the 18th October. If he is a starter who is he a starter for??? Tough call for the manager and his team.
COOK on 20:54 - Oct 4 with 1150 views | Malintabuk | I was reading the match fred and was amazed at how little Cook was mentioned 2 games in 3 days... and looked really good, possibly the best defender in both games Today 2 of the normal back 4 were out, a 20 year old kid playing left back, and Cook was superb. He Marshalled that defence superbly I have no hesitation and play him, especially if NRD is not fit. For I would have to drop Morrisson to the bench
COOK on 20:59 - Oct 4 with 1081 views | BrianMcCarthy | Great question. A really tough call. We played a very high line at times today. We haven't always done that with Cook in the team and/or with Nardi in goal. It really helped us as we won the ball back quickly. That hopefully means that he's not just over his injury but that they trust him to play that far North and still get back in time on the break. That's really encouraging. Cook also has passing. At times last year his long passes (sorry - diags (TM)) out to the right wing were really good. How many of our centre-backs have forward passing? If he's fast enough and fit enough for us to play the high line when we want to, he's the best centre-back we have imho - positioning, reading, tackling, heading, organising. Clarke-Salter is more talented. But Cook is better.

COOK on 21:00 - Oct 4 with 1070 views | BklynRanger | I think he's clearly forced his way back in. Been top drawer these last 2 starts. Would leave him in all season if form and fitness allow.
COOK on 21:00 - Oct 4 with 1070 views | Spaceman_P | I've been impressed with Cook the last 2 games. I think he deserves his spot.
COOK on 21:04 - Oct 4 with 1032 views | Hooping_Mad | Played left side which isn't his favoured spot, They've worked out to leave Morrison in there. He's was our best player against Oxford and was solid today. Nice problem to have

COOK on 21:08 - Oct 4 with 980 views | Northernr | Really good today. Doesn’t mess about. Thought it was interesting my Oxford mate on Weds said he thought Cook was our best player by far.
COOK on 21:09 - Oct 4 with 966 views | terryb | I think Cook deserves to play & that it looked a better combination with Morrison, but the decision might depend on whether it is felt that we need pace (Mbengue) or aerial (Morrison). I wouldn't be too worried whichever two of the trio is selected.
COOK on 21:13 - Oct 4 with 927 views | gazza1 | If he was 'poor' in those matches it would be very easy but he wasn't poor.......I am waiting for Lassel thoughts because I will vote the opposite for obvious reasons | | | | Login to get fewer ads
COOK on 21:13 - Oct 4 with 903 views | Ned_Kennedys | He’s been an excellent signing for us: whereas you mostly read negative stuff from previous clubs’ supporters it was telling how highly rated he was from Bournemouth and Forest. Some foolish comments recently that his legs had gone and he was finished: I think not.
COOK on 21:14 - Oct 4 with 899 views | Myke | Also, might have a calming influence on Mbengue?
COOK on 23:17 - Oct 4 with 575 views | sdm1508 | So good to have the Steve Cook we all know back. Wouldn't mind seeing him with Mbengue. His pace and Cooks leadership. Might actually help Mbengue be less nuts too lol
COOK on 23:25 - Oct 4 with 506 views | ChrisNW6 | Tough on Morrison, but I think Mbengue should start every game until he he gets to the 10 inevitable Yellows, but whoever starts with him Cook or Morrison. I would go with Cook/Mbengue and look to give Morrison game time where possible.
COOK on 00:14 - Oct 5 with 343 views | Hunterhoop | My view is Cook is still the best centre half defensively. Starts for me. His partner should depend on the oppo. For Millwall, I’d play Morrison alongside for a side like Ipswich or S’oton, I’d play Mbengue.

I agree with everything you said, except dropping Morrison, he is unbelievably good It’s Mbengue who needs to force his way back in imo
