Millwall Away - Not Sold Out 15:33 - Sep 16 with 35645 viewsParkRoyalR

Warburton and this team deserve our support on Saturday.

I appreciate our away form has been dire for the last 5 seasons but other than cost, can't see many excuses for not selling out an away game less than hour away on the tube.

Being kept in for 15 / 20 minutes after final whistle is'nt the greatest inconvenience. COYR's.

Millwall Away - Not Sold Out on 17:21 - Sep 16 by CliveWilsonSaid

Last season they let everyone out at the same time because of train problems. No restrictions no trouble at all.

I was behind the goal at their end last season after doing the Prostate cancer collection and getting a free ticket.I thought at least I’d get out at a normal time, but as there was trouble on the trains they everyone out together.
I think it passed off peacefully because it was unexpected. If it became the norm,Im sure it wouldn’t always be the same.
And some of them on there say it’s the safest away game you could attend because I suppose having coins thrown at you doesn’t count.
Maybe I should take my collection bucket along with me next time and raise a fortune for charity by picking up all the loose change.
Shame I’m working instead.

Is there an away fans pub beforehand? Presume somewhere around Borough?

By the way our record there isn't great. No wins since 1990, four draws (two goalless) and two losses.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Just out of interest Clive what happens if you are not going to the station? (i.e. you have a car in the area or going by bus)?

I was going to walk up to Bermondsey tube - are you suggesting that there is no choice other than to be herded by the police?

Anyway, have ticket (as you can see from my questions it's my first attempt at a Millwall away fixture - they have generally been midweek in the past few seasons.

As far as I can tell, tough shit. You go one stop either way from South Bermondsey and then work back from there. The season before last was New Year, infrequent shorter trains, and sadly a lot of QPR started on each other that night fighting to get into a 4 carriage train back to London Bridge. I decided to go the other way and up round the Overground to Kentish Town. Lost 1-0. A

When I was younger I enjoyed going down there as a rite of passage and making it home from the lovely old dears screaming abuse from their Bermondsey balconies and naughty boys hiding down alleyways.

Now I’m a lot older I just can’t be f–ked with the hassle of it all. Negotiations with the family to attend away days are bad enough without the added aggravation of sitting around in south east London for two hours until the police decide we’re allowed to go home.

I was at that one Clive and I was staying in Docklands. When you exit the back of the stand, turn left and wait until they unlock the gate. Then you just walk out and be on your way, I decided on an uber.

I have got my ticket and looking forward to it solely as its a joy to watch this team, Millwall away imo bar the fact you get kept in after is no where near as bad a people make out. Back in the day it was an intimidating place to go but it hasn't been like that for years.

That said if people want trouble I am sure you will be able to find it with their lot, however myself I plan to have a nice few drinks around London Bridge in Bunch of Grapes or Barrow Boy and Banker and gradually make my way to the ground to watch a QPR team to be proud of.

Poll: Of the 3 linked away, who do you think will still be a QPR player come February?

By the time Saturday comes and the forecast for good weather this weekend I still think it will sell out or at least very close to selling out.

Remember The White City Fighting?

few years back we were shoved on the train after the hour long wait out of the stadium, back at London Bridge two mates needed to get a train home to Dartford but were shoved on a tube back across to the other side of London and ended up getting home about 2am.

We lost 2-0 that night and think the news had just come out about the Faurlin points deduction possibility, happy days

Ah yes, wasn't that the one where the police kept us penned in while the millwall fans on the other side of the locked gate showered us with coins? If that padlock had given way it would have been pure bedlam.

The Faurlingate came out the next day

That poll. QPR won’t be turning up because someone’s budgie’s died. I’ve not experienced wit as sophisticated as that since The Krankies on Crackerjack circa 1980. At first I read it as the TV show Budgie (capital B) and thought maybe our friends from Millwall see the quintessential West London QPR supporter as an early 1970s Adam Faith throwback. And what with the Terry Venables link (was it a cameo role or a writing credit?) I was impressed with the multi-layered cultural reference. But no it appears Janet Krankie is alive and well and writing on a Millwall message board. Fandabidozy!

Excellent advice for budgie/pigeon fanciers - removes a lot of risk.

Rangers top boy - sorry to hear the news mate.

With all things taken in consideration I think we will still take 1900 Saturday, not sure when the cut off is for buying tickets in order to get them sent out in time but judging from what I've seen we seem to be at about 1750 atm which is more than enough to create a real atmosphere in the away end.

A Wall fan describes supporting Millllll:

"Miiiiillllllllll…We’re facking Wall and we don’t facking do nuffin but facking tell every facker we’re Wall and Wall look after Wall. When are backs are to the Wall we’re Wall and nuffink will ever change us from being Wall. Not no carnts from the Bush. Who ain’t Wall, neither will they ever be Wall. Cause they ain’t Wall. Not any Wall I no of anyhow. Miillllllllllll.

And when you’re Wall you goota do Wall stuff. Like every telling every other carnt who ain’t Wall is a carnt, Carnts the lot of ‘em. Cause they ain’t Wall like what we is. There’s no Wall like Wall. Fark the Berlin Wall. They kicked that facker down cause it wasn’t a Wall Wall. Just some poxy Wall in poxy facking wherever it was. It was some Wall that went over there to do it and all. Cheeky fackers trading on our facking rep. Carnts.

So fark Qpr and they’re facking west lahndun carnts. We’re Wall always were always will Wall. Miiiillllllllllllllll."
