As I say, it was just a rumour, not sure if there was any truth to it or not.

It was nonsense apparently.

Wasn't able to listen today so had to get updates from here and X. But its a real morale boost for everyone ahead of next weekends game, and it sounds like we really went for it today, which is good news. Fantastic that Rodney got a brace.

Great finish from Rodney. I much prefer Burger in the midfield than East at the moment, he’s much more forward thinking and busy

Agreed. Still irritates he was left out after Oldham and then not even in the squad for the last two. Unfortunately he was limping at the end too, added to Barlow who was obviously struggling and Hogan/Beckwith with potential issues it’s been an awful day for injuries.

The performance though, like quite a few home games this season, was really good. Henderson and Rodney in a forward line always seems to work well, Henderson’s movement alone should see him want to stay for another year. He’s actually getting better and seems to enjoy it more than ever.

We can but hope that the injury news isn’t as bad as it may appear but mention for Kingdon and EEL who both came on and did well.

I didn't go to the game today because I had other things on with the kids early this afternoon.

Great result, great set of other results and good to claw the GD back too.

Well done to McNulty, as much as I don't rate the guy to lift the players after Tuesday night is a credit to him.

As for that stupid poll, the majority of the polls on here are listed by the same people and I never give them the time of day. As I said the other night I do hope that McNulty rams my critism of him down my throat and leads us back to The EFL and FA Trophy glory, what is the point of wasting money and years of your life in following the team of your choice if you don't want success for them?

Wow, what a contrast to Tuesday and the bad days. Great attitude and forward looking, trying their best to score. Some great football today - well done Jim and the players.

I posted the same on Twitter but Ian Henderson is actually a football genius. A big hand in the first two goals, and then obviously scored as well. For that second one any other player would’ve hit the rebound when it came straight to him. But Henderson knew he was offside, ducked, ball bounced to Rodney and in like a bullet. Reminded me a bit of that penalty at Bradford.

He was outstanding all game, and I do hope he reverses his decision to retire this summer. Games like today illustrate how he still has so much to offer, even if it isn’t as a weekly starter.

Agree with that, good performance today with quick passing and loads of movement in the final third. High energy all over the pitch and everybody constantly looking to go forward at every opportunity. A special mention for Allarakhia, he was instrumental in our goals today and had a great second half. Finally the manager, we have no idea of what the team will be from one game to another and we also don't know what sort of performances we will see, today was good though in both respects so he deserves full credit for that. The fans want to be entertained and today ticked every box.

Two strikers up front makes all the difference.
Devante Rodney so much ability. Once he robbed their player you just knew he was going to score. Got to be the most frustrating player we've ever had.
Why hasn't Hendo been used more. Looks as fit as ever.
Again two strikers up front made all the difference .

Well done Dale, a great performance from front to back. The front three caused no end of problems. Despite conceding four, their keeper made some good saves to deny Henderson in the first half and Mitchell in the second. Really good to see us forward thinking and creating (and taking) lots of chances. This is the level of performance we all know we are capable of. Probably why the frustration is so high when we don't get near those levels.

Big week ahead, Up the Dale!

And just as good as the square ball for Hendo to make it 4, much much better performance and carried on playing attacking after the first goal, making a decent Aldershot side look very poor so far.

Only just had a look at their recent form - 7 wins and 2 draws in the league/Trophy since their last defeat.

Thought they were really poor, especially at the back with central defenders who couldn’t cope with any sort of movement. Football eh?!

When we click, we look excellent, when we don’t we, don’t. The aim has to be to click consistently. The league position looks good, but still very tight for the last couple of places. Let’s have another mini run of wins now and secure that play off place.

Very enjoyable exiles day unbeaten record rolls on to next year.Good to see a positive reactions after the dire performance on Tuesday. The inconsistency is incredibly frustrating, but the highs so far, have outweighed the lows sufficiently. To have us in a playoff spot with 2 games in hand and one game from some place in north London with a large stadium.

Been looking lately at the teams making a late run ( there is always one at least),these are the teams to avoid in the play offs unless thats us , finishing 5/6th looks likely at the moment and i would pit us against any team in a one off situation because we dont know how we are going to play so how the hell are the opposition going to know. Its like the Steve Harmison or Devon Malcolm sindrome they never knew what was coming out of their hand , we dont know whats coming out of the dressing room.

That Aldershot team was exactly the opposition Dale needed after the last couple of home games.
It could have been a lot more than four to be honest.
BJ picked exactly the right team so credit there.
The return of Gordon was a major boost. He’s so influential at both ends of the pitch.
And I think BJ got his subs right too although a couple were enforced.
Aldershot couldn’t cope with the movement of Hendo and Rodney and when their manager made defensive changes it gave Tarryn the chance to run amok. He’s such a danger when given a bit of space and freedom.
Just hope that Beckwith and Hogan only picked up minor knocks.
The keeper did well too. His distribution was first class.

Pleased with the performance today. More of the tactics many of us have been craving for: more balls in the box, more shots, the inclusion of Hendo from the start, two strikers upfront and the distribution from our new goalkeeper was far, far better.
There is hope for us yet if McNulty keeps changing his tactics.

Jesus saves but Beasley scores off the rebound.

Got to admit I wasn't expecting today's result. After another long drive as an exile, the last was against Barnett, I was expecting a slow tippy tappy crappy display. I watched the York debacle on DAZN.

Rodney, Barlow and Henderson gave their back line a torrid start to the game. Burger was more creative than the East Gilmour combo on his own. Gilmour was able to get stuck in. The back five looked secure and confident because of the comeback of Gordon.

We could have had more, even Mitchell looked hungry when he came on

Yes the body language and urgency in the display was much better. The criticism from the fans was deserved following recent displays. Now isn't the time to sleep walk into fixtures and start feeling sorry for themselves in respect of the pitch, budgets, injuries, thats the noise that we are constantly hearing from the manager and he needs to pack it in now. Its all part of being a manager and so is fixture congestion when youre on a cup run. Maybe words have been said, hopefully from the boardroom and positivity has replaced the reasons to fail. The Ogdens have dug deep to help the manager and that should be respected. Every team will be in the same boat now, some will embrace the challenge and some will look for excuses. Every fixture should be looked on as a chance to succeed and not as another inconvenience that we didn't need..i think thats the mindset that needs changing at this crucial point of the season. Woking on Tuesday is massive, win that and the league table will look good.
We have had a few games postponed but so have other teams and fixture congestion is also due to our run in the FA Trophy, thats why McNulty has been afforded a decent sized squad to deal with things like that.

The injury situation is normal, not sure what happened with Beckwith but the other players with knocks walked off the pitch. We also had players returning from injury yesterday, one of who was supposedly out until near the end of the season ( Gordon). Let's hope Bird suddenly makes a unexpected return. The injury to East is a blow but that's a situation that's been poorly managed all season, we've been crying out for that area of the pitch to be strengthened since the season started but spent the budget on other areas of the squad instead, accumulating wide players. To try to rely on East and Gilmour both having a season free of injuries was never going to happen and we are now left having to depend on Berger who is clearly out of position but does try his best. So that midfield problem is self inflicted and recruitment was left too late. In regards to the pitch, it's playing OK and is in better condition than Oldhams, Halifax and probably many others. It's going to be hard and bumpy next Saturday for the Spennymoor game following a week of good weather.

So a lot of positives from yesterday, the display against a in form Aldershot team is the reason why a lot of fans refuse to look for excuses when it comes to poor performances and defeats, we are capable of beating all teams in this league and we are much better than some of the insipid, walking football that seems to rear it's ugly head in our performances every few games. It just kills momentum in our game and also any atmosphere in the stadium. It's terrible to watch, play with pace and get at teams. The double is still on and a great chance to win the first trophy in the clubs history, let's not die wondering and attack each game with belief. Time to ditch the book of excuses Jim and embrace the exciting challenges in front of you, these opportunities are very rare in football and you and the players need to go out and make history. If you don't somebody else will.

Great to watch that, excellent display to be honest, thought Gordon, Hendo, Rodney, Beckwith, Burger all excellent. Delighted we are putting ourselves in with a great shot at the playoffs, which shouldn't be taken for granted. Just look at other ex league clubs like Yeovil, Hartlepool, Dagenham etc who are struggling.

When the team clicks, it works wonders. I think East is a terrific player, capable of playing higher up the system, but actually today it seemed to work better without him.

Hendo should be offered a new contract if we are still in this Division next season, and arguably even if not. What a consummate pro, a genuine club legend.

There is something there with Rodney too. If he could get over his fitness issues he's a real handful.

I guess the inconsistency and the random games where we play walking football are part and parcel of why the players are National League and not Championship players. We (myself included) have to remind ourselves of that, as infuriating as it is and as infuriating as the manager's comments can be. Hopefully just not too regularly!

The roller coaster that is being a Dale fan.

Massive game Tuesday now - as others have mentioned, this should be seen as another chance to move towards finishing in the Playoffs. The goal should be to finish fourth in my opinion, highest achievable spot and would be beneficial for obvious reasons. I didn't see anything in Oldham that suggested we should finish below them.

The thing with East and Gilmour is that they have very similar playing styles. I would like to see a more box to box player in the Lund/Jones/Rathbone mould so that we have different options and can spread the physical load over the season.

Good point in respect of Henderson, a player who has been very under used this season. Maybe that will benefit us now during the run in. Not sure what team we will play at Woking with the Spennymoor game looming. Woking are in the same boat as us though when it comes to not wanting to risk players who are carrying knocks. A draw might suit both teams but a win would be great for us.
