Possibly one of the best players to come in this season. He has just got better and better, skillful, aggressive and always trys his heart out. Add to that the fact he comes across as a lovely lad , I really hope we sign him permanently!!

Love this little man Connell. Always sming and enjoys himself out there. An alien concept in today's game.

Love the way he bow's to the crowd when he comes off

Very tricky on the wing and has a decent shot too.

Someone who comes from a completely different culture and has moved to a country where he has not even the knowledge of a few words of English and at such a young age too, takes guts.

If he does sign and plays here for two or three more seasons has the potential to be a cult hero.

Sign him up definitely.

What you just said. I’ve been impressed by the he’s adapted to battling with defenders twice his size with a combination of skill and loads of bottle

Strong and stable my arse.

Saito is a great little player. If I exclude players who haven't played about 30 games, like Edwards and the many who have been out a lot with injuries, Saito is stil our player of the season for me with just 5 games left.

The fact that he took part in the Tiger Cubs walk tells you everything you need to know about him

Great little player and has scored two very good goals, one of great skill and the other of great composure. But the two things that really stand out was one winning a towering header which led to a goal and the second and after match interview with Paul Smyth which was pure comedy gold. Hope we have the option to sign him and take that option up.

Well worth a new contract. Doing a good job for us and is a good team player.

I agree with all these comments and I think we should do him the favour of spelling his name right

He's a really great asset. I seem to remember earlier on in the season being told by someone allegedly in the know that he would be signed after his loan spell if the season worked out for him. I am assuming that is in hand because I can see him being a proper menace in a second season here.

Never knowingly right.

Unless there's a pre agreed option we can exercise, I can't see how this one gets done unfortunately.

A shame, great player and character, and a good Chair alternative / replacement

Brilliant player, the amount of times this season either a neutral or opposition fan has watched us and praised "the Japanese lad" tells me all I need to know. I live in very great hope that its a done deal, if so I imagine Nourry is saving that one for a summer slam dunk at a point when things get a bit tetchy in the fanbase.

I'd be very surprised if he is not here next season. Great player to watch and seems to love it here too.

Contract with his home club expires in the summer. I’d be surprised if we didn’t have an option to sign him directly.

Just has that right attitude. It's not easy to spell his name right because the 'o' in his name has a header.

Which coincidentally is another plus to his game. He does that well for a short lad.

His owner ultimately is City Football Group, so they won’t let him go for free

How can footballers (or their 'rights') be 'owned' by anyone in the modern age? Slavery was supposedly abolished in the 19C!

If he wants to come/stay, and we want him to, we surely have to get the deal done.

Is it normal to pay for a player out of contract?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but if they don't offer him a new deal or they do and he turns it down then surely they don't have a choice as he's then a free agent?

But if that's the case then why did we need "an option" in the loan deal, if he's just going to be a free agent?

Clear as mud all of this one. QPR unwilling to give a straight answer to a straight question when asked about it.

W12 pod suggested that Lommel have an option to extend and we've basically got an option to buy that which all seems bloody mad but then this is football.

The general consensus is that our "option" was we get to/have to buy him if we win promotion, which we're obviously not going to do.

bloomin' pessimist. 66 points and we could have a sniff.

Edit - maths gone wrong. I will admit we have zero chance.

I guess in theory that could be true.

A bit like our 1 year extensions. We could force the one year extension on a player in order to sell him to another club he has been on loan too who themselves had an option on him. If that is the case then I am guessing fee won't be too mad.
