Knew if I put a post whingeing about our second half we’d get a winner ;)
Great result, great first half. Second half we lost control, credit to Edwards that I felt we were weaker without him, he looks a great talent. Very glad to be out of there with a valuable 3 points! Would love to pinch fourth from Oldham.

Great win. Fully deserved and for the second game running a significant change in approach as we were direct from the back with no lack of creativity in the final third. We should have been out of sight before their equaliser and responded quite well after that to find a winner.
Edwards going off is a worry but Weston did ok after coming on. EEL and Gordon were very good.
One more win and the playoffs are guaranteed with goal difference taken into account. The response over the last two games has been excellent.

I disagree that we responded well. I thought after they equalised there was only going to be one winner. Their attacking play resulted in far more chances than us, and it seemed like there was absolutely no desire from us to win the game. Thankfully some tenacity from Gilmour (a warrior all game) and a neat finish from Rodney showed me what I know!

We responded well because we showed some resoluteness under pressure, carried on going forward and looked to create chances culminating in getting a winner. Would fully have expected Altrincham to put us under pressure after the break, their season depended on it.
Was fully expecting that to be more points dropped so very encouraging that we managed to pull something out of the bag to get a deserved 3 points. One more win from our last four should secure a play off place. With Jay Bird supposedly returning soon could we go on a bit of a run here?? I’d love McNulty to prove me and the other doubters wrong.

Pretty much echoes my view of the game. We really should have been out of sight before they equalised. After that, they had us under the cosh...especially down the wings which had been almost no go areas for them in the first half.
I'm absolutely delighted that we won, but just wish we could have scored a second goal that our play in the first hour deserved.

Great win with backs to the wall defending after their equaliser. Barrett with some brilliant saves. Cheeky Rodders goal :calmly nutmegging the keeper.
The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.
Some how to myself it seemed to be fated that we should win today. After the news of Joe Thompson’s I can’t look beyond the symbolism of today’s victory.

Dug deep for that one, could only really see Altrincham getting a winner after their equaliser, Rodney had a couple of decent chances before that when you wondered if we'd let the chance slip, that first half was excellent and as their commentary team mentioned "Altrincham will be happy being only one goal down", there's certainly a very good side within this group of players and if we can go on a run there's not many teams I'd fear in the play offs "IF" we turn up.

First half probably the best we've played away since maybe Aldershot. Second half was starting to look familiar after missing early chances but stuck in there and found a deserved winner. Back 3, Gilmour and Rodney all immense and Barrett's best showing so far, some great saves. Need to push on to finish 4th or 5th and be ruthless Monday - Fylde relegated today.

Performance has fallen off the cliff since half time. Played well first half. Sadly the same story as we’ve seen several times this season.
Allarakhia should have been subbed off about 15 minutes earlier.
Mitchell must want away. He is completely ineffectual at challenging, it’s embarrassing tbh for someone his size and the fact he is a professional.
Totally agree about Mitchell, very little heart in his play.......does n't look that interested. Surely young Ayinde would have been a better option to retain the ball and occupy the defence (like Hendo had done admirably up till the sub)......Mitchell played best part of half an hour but contributed little in that time.

He wasn’t great but he won a couple of headers and was an improvement on recent appearances. Ayinde is a wide man.

I think we just edged the game overall but Altrincham upped their performance in the second half, they're a decent side. We've been finding ways of losing games away from home, and turning wins into draws. The second half was a carbon copy of that but instead the team found a way to win and deserve full credit for that. Just prior to Rodney scoring, a large Bird was swooping down around the goal and if you believe in such things i think JT had a hand in that goal, it was fate, he was watching. Today was a good battling performance on a dodgy pitch, no overplaying in and around our penalty box and plenty of fight on display. Gilmour was the best player on the pitch, EEL was solid as a rock and Rodney is always a threat if he's in the mood. Barlow also had a good game. A play off place will probably be secured on Monday i think, we turned up for a big game today so credit to the manager for getting the game plan right.Great support also from the Dale fans

I'm predicting that come 17.00 on Monday we shall have nicked Oldham's all important forth spot then it'll be in our hands to keep or throw away !

It looks as if the team have put the huge blow of the Spennymoor game behind them (which was a concern they wouldn't) so it'd be great if the support on Monday can do the same
We were certainly up for that semi-final in the stands; it's up to the manager now to really put the mistakes of the season to bed and just go for it now

It was a good win and I thought we create enough chances to win the game comfortably, especially at the start of the second half. I agree with the comments about Mitchell, he seems to lack the ability to dominate defences or run into spaces, I wonder if he is lacking confidence at the moment in that he is no longer an automatic starter.

If Forest Green, who are in really poor form, only manage three points from their last three games, we could still sneak into third by winning all ours.

Gateshead Southend on the last day of the season almost guarantees a playoff spot
