Possible next managers... 08:07 - Apr 25 with 34946 viewsGloucs_R

I can't see this blowing over with a happy outcome so looking forward. Who works you like to see take the helm?

Options could be...

Gary O'Neill
Russell Martin
Liam Rosenior
Steve Cooper
Will Still

Isn't nearly £8 a pint in the Blue and White. Get Wazza drinking in there at those prices and we'll have Sargent off Norwich for £20m.

Just seen this posted by a Swedish fan on Facebook:

I think Marti is a great manager, but as a Swede, following his career in Scandi, I’m not surprised. He never stays long, he’s constantly looking for the next step.
My top name for our new manager would be KIM HELLBERG, the current manager at Hammarby, the same club we found Marti in.
He is, frankly, a better alternative:
* Just as experienced as Marti but much younger.
* He plays a more effective high-energy football.
* He’s had better results in Hammarby than Marti (with a much younger squad).
* Great man-management, great developer. Since Marti left Hammarby Kim has managed to turn a bunch of Marti’s rejects (benched or loaned out) into some of the best players in the Swedish league (Tekie, Vagic, Toure).
* Sold players for much more money than Marti.
* More well-liked and in tune with the fans (Kim himself used to be with the ultras in IFK Norrköping as a kid).

Funnily enough, the guy who sits in front of me mentioned this guy on Saturday.
Whatever happened to Ramón Díaz? 😇

Sheehan just got a 3 year deal at Swansea.

Never knowingly right.

That's probably them just putting two and two together though with him just recently leaving Lyon.

Wouldn't be averse to him though, his overall record at Lyon on paper looks pretty impressive. 56 games, 57% win %age, 100 goals scored in those games.

Nourry will know the thoughts of the fans and will need to appoint the right man. They will have to be told how the clubs finances are etc etc. I just can’t see the club appointing a foreign manager next time. You have to hate the bookies for mentioning Beale, scum JT, Gerard etc. I know Norwich are after Oneill but he lives close by and it’s not all about money, he’s big mates with Austin and Derry. Can’t see them going to Norwich. Southampton maybe.

Would Russell Martin fit? Did ok, no connections, wouldn’t like the budget.
Sean Dyche. Think he would be too trumpy, no budget.
Rosenior … doing well abroad, had a connection, would be pricey.
Steve Cooper .. just can’t see it, why would he
Nathan Jones Bell end
Wellens… don’t know much about him, but he would know Kelman in Freshers week

If they are following the process as they have described it they will have a clear idea of who they want, and it wont be an obvious or expensive name

Exactly, and presumably they will have had options in mind previously when Marti was about to get the boot.

He didn't 'just leave'. He was sacked after a run of bad results.

Reckon this is good news for us. Finishing the season strong but always wary of any club hiring the caretaker after a new manager bounce replacing a former manager who was struggling. They've got potential to be in the mix for teams who might struggle.

I'll get crucified locally for this, but the turnaround Jesper Sorensen has a achieved here with the Whitecaps is nothing short of epic. After a decade stumbling around in MLS mediocrity for decades, he's turned them into a footballing machine overnight. They're currently first in the league and, more significantly, two goals up on the Messi and Suarez's Miami team in the CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-final.

I realise anything MLS related is close to meaningless in the UK but they really are as well organised as any team I've seen in the Championship this year. I doubt Sorensen will be here for long, so get 'im while you can!

Rumours of Wayne Rooney being spotted at the QPR golf day...

I've just had a horrible, horrible thought:

Wayne Rooney and new owners coming as a set.

Please not Wayne. Ugh!

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

O’Neill definitely doesn’t live up near Norwich. His children are at school in London. He lives SE London. I’m not convinced by him.

Jones still a decent chance of winning the playoffs with Charlton and being in this league next season anyway with a similar sized club. He's doing a good job there.

In these circumstances I'm always left with the thoughts of Sir A Ferguson esq.....

roughly interpreted as

"don't pick a club, pick a good owner"

I'm afraid I've got to a point with Rangers that I've lost heart from my earlier enthusiasm and you probably know why. However, if you were a potential manager looking for a job would you really consider Rangers as a good potential employer?

Looking at this message board probably not, I can think of better run clubs than this. In fact, I'd probably stay unemployed rather than this club.....

Psul Furlong?

Rather than bringing in someone who is new to QPR and who will more than likely treat us as a stepping stone for a few years, if they don't get sacked first, why not make Calm official head coach - if he is willing to put up with Nourry - make Betsy his official assistant and promote Furlong to make him a first team coach. I know Betsy and Calm (sounds like a posh soap brand ) are in interim charge, make them permanent or as near as QPR ever gets to permanent .

Calm hasn't always worked with Marti, he has been a head coach twice, albeit at a low level, and he has Championship experience here and at Birmingham City. He was apparently doing all the defensive coaching anyway, Marti coached the attacking players, such as they are.

Let's give some people who already have some affinity with Rangers a go. It gives us some much needed continuity and avoids a situation where our new coaching team know little or nothing about the EFL.

I didn't realise before but Betsy actually coached various England youth teams. This approach probably won't work, hardly anything seems to at this club, but perhaps the combination of a bit of emotional attachment and some loyalty plus a modicum of ability will work. It will be cheaper, too.

Right, time for my tablets .

Jason Tindall is a name in the press this morning. Assistant at Newcastle. A very limited but not bad record in charge of teams.
