Indeed, unless we let Calm and Betsy, plus maybe also Furlong, do it and make it official when Marti is officially gone. Not that I want Marti gone, mind, but I think there's no way he can stay while the current top team is still in place. |  |

I just can't imagine it's going to be anyone we've heard of but this is not out of the blue, they must already have an idea who they want otherwise this week is an even bigger shitshow than it already looks
I quite like the Plymouth manager, he's done very well to get them so close to staying up which will be the job next season. Gary O'Neil I think is a realstic option as I think his next move has to be the Championship although he would have a shout at better championship jobs.
Much like when Warbs left though I look at the options and don't think any of them are any better than what we've already got [Post edited 1 May 14:42]

I would be staggered if they hadn't drawn up a short list prior to the past fortnight & determined if those named were interested . Given the fallout between the two parties, it would be dereliction of duty by Nourry if this was not the case. | | | |

Probably no point having a manager. They will only last about 18 months before they get sacked and the circus starts again. We need consistency. We were moving forward under Marti. He understood us. The board need to look at themselves and how they have handled this whole debacle. Their next appointment is a HUGE decision. They get it wrong and the fans I’m sure will turn. |
If a manager lasts 18 months in the Championship he’s probably doing a bloody reasonable job to be fair.

Don't most employees have to do what their boss tells them to? Where I work if my boss tells me to do something then I do it (as long as it's legal and work related). After all he sorts out my wages and that's all I'm bothered about! | | | |

Rather than bringing in someone who is new to QPR and who will more than likely treat us as a stepping stone for a few years, if they don't get sacked first, why not make Calm official head coach - if he is willing to put up with Nourry - make Betsy his official assistant and promote Furlong to make him a first team coach. I know Betsy and Calm (sounds like a posh soap brand  ) are in interim charge, make them permanent or as near as QPR ever gets to permanent  .
Calm hasn't always worked with Marti, he has been a head coach twice, albeit at a low level, and he has Championship experience here and at Birmingham City. He was apparently doing all the defensive coaching anyway, Marti coached the attacking players, such as they are.
Let's give some people who already have some affinity with Rangers a go. It gives us some much needed continuity and avoids a situation where our new coaching team know little or nothing about the EFL.
I didn't realise before but Betsy actually coached various England youth teams. This approach probably won't work, hardly anything seems to at this club, but perhaps the combination of a bit of emotional attachment and some loyalty plus a modicum of ability will work. It will be cheaper, too.

Isn't MC's official position "Head Coach"? My understanding is that the Club can not employ another Head Coach while Marti is still under contract with us. Think we need to be careful employing anyone who essentially does MC's job while he he is still with us. Nourry really has put us in a huge mess. | | | |

Marti was in charge at Rangers for 1.5 years and prior to ‘gardening leave’ was the 5th longest serving Championship manager - with the actual longest serving, Michael Carrick, being at Middlesbrough for a staggering 2.5 years.
Now including us, 17 of 24 Championship clubs (71%) either have no manager or a manager who has been in place for less than a year. | | | |
