Looking for 3 teams to finish below us already, any promising candidates? Hope it is a lot more competitive at the top rather than the usual 3-4 suspects blowing away the league. Unlikely eh

Well we always seem to beat Nathan Jones sides so there's six points in the bag I hope (and him having two meltdowns). At the moment we look like certain candidates for the bottom 3 in my book. Weaker at the back than we were. If Saito doesn't sign that's a slightly weaker midfield. We'll probably go with the same strike "force" so very weak there apart from Frey (who I know divides opinion but I like him so there) We're in the mix with Charlton, PNE, Oxford, Derby, Pompey and possibly Dull City and Sjoke if they continue to revert to type with signings etc. Looks like this could be our year

Other than Nathan Jones being Welsh and Cardiff being in Wales, I've no idea how they'd think he drop down to a League One club, having just got one promoted!

We are supposed to be a selling club... so let's sell. Because knowing how luck we will keep him and it will go to rat sh!t Even the attack seems to be a little more positive. Celar hopefully comes.... well average will do me... Frey is competent, and I really hope that Kelman settles back... there could be a case to actually play to his strengths and play so we create chances for him. It really is just the manager situation that has me worried.... we are going to suffer if this is not resolved by July.. the pre season is so important
Rest of the Championship thread 25/26 on 13:47 - Jun 6 with 4239 views | derbyhoop | Wednesday have to be in trouble, surely. The chances of Rohl being their manager in August must be remote. Players not getting paid and they've already lost Ihekwie and Valentin. Oxford, Charlton, Preston, Hull and Stoke all look poor. But, then, at the moment, so do we.

Add Pompy and Derby to that. Bigger teams in the Champ next season, but there are still enough poor ones that we should survive.

Thank you, sir. Glad it worked. Regards the “3 worse than us” theme: Oxford (still the worst team I saw last season and one of the worst I’ve seen at his level) Pompey (weak and the home advantage will wane) Preston (sounds like it’s falling apart there) Sheff Wed (definitely falling apart) Charlton (look sh*t and obviously I hope Nathan Jones fails) Hull (struggled last season, hopefully that continues) Derby (poor last year…we beat them 4-0, FFS) Stoke (circled the drain for so long now…) So all in all we’ll finish 16th again.

Oh it'll likely be the same sht it always is. Dominated by parachute teams and one or two who've got their act together over time (Cov maybe playing the Sunderland role this year). The slight difference is Birmingham/Wrexham are the strongest/richest clubs that have come up from that division in a while. That aint no Plymouth, Rotherham, Oxford thing they've got going there. No guarantee of course, but I would be surprised if either went down. But to offset that you've got Sheff Wed who finished midtable last year apparently now melting down, Watford threatening to do similar, Preston as mentioned (though even they've gone out and picked up Thierry Small who I'd have been quite excited about coming here). As for predicting QPR I'll probably stick them 16th as always but that feel optimistic at this stage (first week of June). If you were another club in this league writing a season preview and having to assess QPR for a season preview, what would you say? Chaotic, unresolved managerial situation. Player of the year leaving along with Saito and others. Won 3 of the last 13 games last season. Several key players who were already knocking on a bit are now a year older, and in Steve Cook's case badly injured. No signings made. One pre-season friendly confirmed. No kit. 27 year old running the show. Complete radio silence for more than a month now. You wouldn't be placing us high up would you? You'd be saying things like "what's going on down there?" FourFourTwo season preview submissions have to be in by the 10th.

Well they've put some ludicrous offer in for Tom Cairney from Fulham which would fit in with that model. But they're also in for Travis from Blackburn who, at £3m, would be a steal.

I work on the assessment of who is going to be better than last season and who is going to be worse. The trouble is, like Hull 2 Summers ago, someone can do a supermarket sweep towards the end of the transfer window and it changes everything. That particularly applies to the relegated clubs and any others (Sheff U?) with parachute money. ATM, I see Sheff W, Watford and PNE being worse. WBA , Bristol C and Boro probably going to drop a couple of places. Brum and Wrexham have too much money to be as bad as the sides they are replacing. Portsmouth and Derby may be slightly better for a year in the Championship. As for us, as things stand, we look an under-cooked mess. Although, getting a couple of decisions right could change that assessment, dramatically.

Rest of the Championship thread 25/26 on 15:19 - Jun 7 with 2600 views | davman | The thing at this stage is that we are QPR, so we WILL buy players and the majority of them will be huge gambles. The question then is will they come good? If the recruitment strategy remains the same, ie: getting in "ballers" with good technique, but limited physicality, athleticism and pace, well we're fckd. If the Injuries are solved by the Scarlet Pimpernel re-emerging from the desert, we might be less fckd. If they get more pragmatic and give some steel to add to the midget army up top, then we may be less fckd. If they hurry up and sort out a manager that fits the model and is aligned with the club's philosophy, maybe we're even more less fckd. So that's a whole heap of 6s we need to roll and with our track record as the club that will fall into a bucket of t*ts and coming our sucking our thumb, what do YOU reckon the chances are?

Hull are the most difficult one to write under this ownership. You tell me they make the play offs next year I’d believe you, you tell me they finish last with 30 points I’d also believe you.
