Multiple punch ups from people who should know better at Surrey cricket 22:35 - Jun 20 with 7297 views | numptydumpty | So much alcohol, so much sun, game going nowhere. People egging others on throughout to down pints. And put pint glass on pint glass. Stewards just staring people out - passive aggressive- made so much worse and rather couple of older blokes throwing a few punches, all the while stewards looking angry and doing nothing and then after about an hour of this nonsense, few people got ejected and police with batons came in, obviously didnt use them. We were completely bemused. Worse than I have seen at any football match for years. A few old dears wading in too. And unbelievably loads of young kids in big group, probably around 10 years old, totally unphased by what was going on. Probably seen so much on social media ie no sense of what was going on around them. Had to remember was at a cricket match. Absolute joke. Could not believe what was happening around us. Anyhow Surrey won easily but what was going on was outrageous. Ridiculous scenario. [Post edited 20 Jun 22:36]

These t20 games , for a lot of people, the game is irrelevant. Yep Ascot week, am sure will have been absolute carnage this week too. But its the last thing I expect at the Oval. I must be getting old. You used to go to the cricket for a nice relaxing kip !!!

This cricket was at a game where there was loads of young kids so no I dont think you let them get on with it. You take them outside, throw them out of the ground and never let them come back I didn'tmuself go to a ceicket match to be in amongst that pathetic nonsense Immediate lifetime ban Spoils it for everyone else.. Absolutely hate the races, just a magnet for utter dickheads. Tarocash is the name of the shop here they get their cheap suits from but much the same behaviour. [Post edited 20 Jun 23:56]

Multiple punch ups from people who should know better at Surrey cricket on 09:34 - Jun 21 with 3384 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Started to happen at the rugby as well. Used to go to the 7s at Twickenham, 2 day event with lots of fancy dress (student nurses dressed as well, nurses) and a few beers all day. Then the power drinkers started going. Weirdly it was NZ fans that were the worst, mouthy, bad language and then the fights. Bet they wouldn't behave like that back in NZ. Loftus Rd is like a gentleman's club compared to some sports events now.

I do not know Mr Chapman myself. Is he a rather rotund gentleman probably late 60s early 70s, and supports Middlesex and QPR. Went along with his wife. Had a go at me for supporting Surrey when I support QPR amd suggested as QPR was.in old layman terms in Middlesex, I had no right to follow Surrey. I told him via his Mrs that I was born in Surrey. This bloke was one that got ejected from the ground as he started swinging a few punches to bloke behind us!!!!

That is utterly desperate. What's wrong with people? Morons. You know, one of NASA's alien contact scenarios involves aliens actually saving the human race from itself. I'm really beginning to wonder if that is our best chance.

Not sure what anyone else thinks, but the grey horse quite within his rights to batter the light chestnut horse for wearing a suit like that! Utter disgrace, no place for such apparel at any sporting venue. Mate of mine was there a few days earlier. Some drunken a-holes tried it on a bookmaker. Within seconds his handlers appeared and handed down a thorough battering to the yobs. Good I say!! [Post edited 21 Jun 16:50]

Last cricket match I was at, Ashes at OT, late 2001. A few of us Rfosi in Manchester at the time ended up sat with a load of Aussies. Great bants and I rejoined the antipodeans on the Sunday after they gave me a spare. I left not before stumps ashamed, embarrassed, and apologising profusely to the Aussies for the cรผntish behaviour of English fans. Two problems: 1. Too many blokes who can't handle their booze and they keep getting served. 2. Coppers! Why aren't they actively managing the situation and chucking out these pricks? That was 2001, 24 years later and they're charlie'd up to the eyeballs.

The Aussie fans are the same over there, but they lower the strength of the alcohol as the day wears on to stop the worst of it.
