Another excited by our project.

Out of interest, do we know what exactly the project, that's causing many to beat a path to our door, entails?

Asking for a friend.

Edit: Welcome Amadou.

Reading fans in a bit of a meltdown on twitter over this. A common theme is the talk about his character and passion which is great to have. Still young at 23, hopefully some good upside, feel like this is an excellent addition especially on a free

Good centre back and can play across the back.

Never knowingly right.

Good signing. You can’t teach pace, which he has in abundance (and our defence needs!), by you can coach the bits of his game that needs work. Over to you Mr Bould.

At a guess, I'd say it's what it has been for the best part of 3 decades.

1. Get promoted to premier league.

2. Cling on to our place by our fingernails, at the expense of everything else.

3. Forget competing in major cup competitions, league is all that matters.

4. Just see FA/league cup games, as bonus days off. We will just put out a weakened side, as always.

As I listened to a bit of that interview, I thought: what would David Beckham have given for a voice like that?

Deeper than a contrabassoon after a pack of Gitanes.

2 thoughts on that:

- His celebration run is faster than most of our player's actual run

- His final two words could be a handy gif during the season

Nice write-up here, seems like a real good sort.

"CEO Christian Nourry said: “Amadou brings pace, power, defensive nous and an infectious personality to the first-team squad, as well as EFL experience.

“We are pleased that he has chosen QPR to take his next step.”"

Has he been reading the articles?

Point 4 - tossing away our cup games has really worked in getting QPR into the top 6 over the last 10 seasons.

What I can’t decipher is why we can get him on a free but we’ll have to pay over a million (including add-ons) for Poku. They’re both the same age - I thought regardless of how long a player’s been at a club, that team gets compo if he moves to a team in the same country

It's stepped for how long the player is at the club I think, and Mbengue hasn't been at Reading long at all really. The Reading fan in the article linked above seems to think they'll get something for him though.

Just had a look and:

"The Reading Chronicle understands that Reading will be entitled to some compensation due to his age."

I'm not sure how it'll compare to the 900k for Poku though

The Reading fans are absolutely gutted and from all I have read he has been excellent for them, so seems a very positive signing.

Maybe our transfers this season are on the same trajectory as last season except they are all plying their trade in England. So hopefully that means they dont take a season to hit the ground running.

Sounds a similar trajectory for Poku also.

The proof will be in the pudding, whatever the hell that means.

Just seen the video interview. He seems scarey. Could intimidate those of a lesser temperament.

Diakite vibes with consistency of performance hopefully....

And yes very very deep voice

As I mentioned on another thread, I spoke to a couple of Reading fans who talked about this bloke in almost club legend terms. Sounds like a superb player but also like the right sort too. A bit of leadership from a young age. Huge plus is he knows a 46 game season too.

Poll: Moses Odubajo - Stick or Twist?

Large + fast + not a ‘keeper or a 10 = good.

Cover for somewhat fragile defenders = excellent.

More please.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?
