Glastonbury 20:41 - Jun 27 with 7974 views | max936 | Anyone watching? I put it on when I got home from the daily slog enjoyed Lewis Capaldi he was excellent, Alanis Morissette was decent as well. Used to think about going, but wading through those crowds to see different acts on the different Stages would pee me off immensily,

What else are they going to do if it's their chosen profession, I though Gary Numan and Pulp were excellent

Just watching Snow Patrol on Iplayer decent band, watched Rod earlier but only saw his last 3 songs, one with Mick Hucknall and another with Ronnie Wood and Lulu, on BBC around 7:30

As I understand it each iteration of "Glasto" has to be licenced by the local authority. Given the, let's call them "controversies" over the festival this year it's quite possible the Eavis family will be turned down next time.

If they can survive the battle of the bean field they'll survive this. It doesn't even come close. It would be a non story if it wasn't social media. Glastonbury have had a left field for decades none of this is anything new. [Post edited 29 Jun 19:31]

The Battle of the Beanfield was nothing to do with Glastonbury. It wasn't even in the same county.

Glastonbury on 09:11 - Jun 29 by mangohilljack | Glastonbury just isn’t what it used to be. I went every year throughout the ’90s — apart from the cancelled one — right up until they built that new wall. Back then, it wasn’t for the faint-hearted. It had grit, chaos, and real character. You wouldn’t catch today’s far-left, hyper-woke crowd anywhere near it — they simply wouldn’t have survived the mud, madness, or mayhem. It used to be a proper festival — a wild mix of people from all walks of life coming together for the music and the atmosphere. Now? It’s been overrun by middle-class Home Counties types who look like they’ve wandered in from a Boden catalogue and wouldn’t recognise a decent band if it slapped them in the face mid-flat white. The line-ups back in the ’90s were absolutely unreal — proper rock, indie, and dance acts across every night. It was raw, diverse, and electric. These days, it feels more like a curated Instagram experience than a celebration of music and culture. |
It's not just Glastonbury it's the same with football, pubs...etc there is no edge to life anymore, you cant say hurty words, you can't have a laugh, you cant say what you think the whole working class person has been erased from history And why do fecking Americans have so much difficulty in say Glas.....ton....buuuury

It's a clever performance I have a decent voice but nothing like it was You adapt as the higher range goes but then the lower register compensates And those female musicians

It's the Rod Stewart show, has been for many years. I've probably seen him over 20 times, he has adapted with age and knows what he can do and can't. People go home happy and smiling, there won't be many more we just have to enjoy what we have.

Glastonbury on 21:54 - Jun 29 with 774 views | Togg | Sir Rodney of Stewart take a bow! Amazing show. How does he find so many talented good looking ladies who can sing dance and play. Dragged on Ronnie for a Faces number and Lulu for Hot Legs. I like the way he shared the stage with his musicanes, bringing them to the front of the stage not to the back like Taylor Swift. There was something there for all Rods years. I love the Faces and early Rod but enjoyed Sexy and Baby Jane which I would normally won't listen to. Fantastic professional performance by the old geezer.

Highlight of the weekend. They really need to look at their schedules. Other stages and artists down the bill were far better than the so called main artists.

Very poor ending to this weekends Glastonbury for me Olivia Rodrigo at Pyramid and the god awful Prodigy at another stage. Would have liked to have seen Sam Ryders set, but that wasn't broadcasted decent artist with a decent voice as well. Rod Stewart was the highlight today and the weekend for that matter an 80yr old artist stole the show, it says something about the fair on offer. he should have been last on the Pyramid stage today to close the show, maybe he didn't want to do that at his age I don't know, couple of years ago we had Elton closing the weekend and he was excellent. The organisers need to get their acts together and finish the weekend in style with decent performers. [Post edited 29 Jun 23:05]

It’s been a bit weak for the last three years or so. My favourites this year were The Prodigy….saw them in Cardiff pre Covid and absolutely brilliant live….Rod and guests….it was like watching The Mummy when Ronnie appeared….and The Scissor Sisters who put on a very glamorous not unexpected and totally vulgar show. I’ll be catching up on IPlayer with the rest of Glasto. Apart from Pulp and Gary Newman any other recommendations would be appreciated.
