He'll probably have had a few threads a while back, but on the back of the alleged WBA and Soton interest, where do we stand? For me, if he will not sign a new contract, anything north of £4m should be accepted.

Personally I'd like to him sign an extension with a review point next summer, but that is not in his favour, so why would he sign?

I think we will sell, but that may not be a bad thing as alleged selling clubs HAVE to sell once in a while. It will leave as short up front (last season's 4 as a collective were poor), but money needs to start coming in.

Thoughts?

I would offer him a new 3 year deal, even if he struggles in the Championship, league 1 club's know he can score goals and some would be willing to pay £1m or more to buy him (Birmingham paid that for Dykes and £10 for Stansfield).

If he refuses to sign and clubs offer £3m + add ons and sell on fee, I would sell.

If I was a Championship owner I'd tell my Manager to piss off he wanted spend £4 Million on an untried Championship player.

Interesting to read that one "ITK" poster on X seems to believe that the board think that we need to move either Kelman or Celar along.

The board are saying they want Celar to succeed so its looking like Kelman will depart.

Sorry, but for me.....you have a player who was poor last season, only scored a couple and then got injured v a player who finished top scorer in Division 1.

Is this not a little bit of pride biting on someones ego?

Or simply that Kelman wont sign a new contract so we are trying to big up Celar??

I can't keep up with It all, there was a Summer transfer thread that was working fine.

There's threads and new threads here there and everywhere now.

It's getting confusing isn't it Ted. There are enough Eze threads to make a jumper.

For what it's worth before the Spackman police arrive, I think it is entirely down to Charlie. If he feels he can now make his mark here and sign a new longer term deal, great. If not, then perhaps he does need to go for enough money to hopefully bring another forward in.

Although, as I've said on the other 8 threads, the problem we have is we sell a player (who has had one good season) and get money in. Watch him then do well elsewhere. Spend a majority of the money on a young up and coming player, find he isn't ready yet and then he goes out on loan. You find yourself in a rinse and repeat situation.

Never knowingly right.

Let's see how he does pre season and first few games of the real season. We can make a decision towards end August.
ATM his value is probably somewhere between £3-7m. But if WBA, Soton, Sheff U and Norwich all sniffing around, it could be even higher.

I would say we will get close to 4m including add ons. Depends on how long we can keep our nerve for.

Personally, would rather him than Celar though.

I’m pretty sure our new manager has his sights on 1 or 2 strikers in France.

I’d be astonished if he hasn’t.

100% prefer to keep him over Celar - Kelman has at least proved he can score goals (multiple!) in this country

Shit but local

I'd want us to keep them both ... Personally, I'd start the season with Celar up front alongside Frey (if we play two up front) and Kelman on the bench.

If we continue with a lone striker then it has to be Frey for me ... I bet most centre backs hate playing against someone like him.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but I think we will have, at least, two players bagging 10.league goals or more this season

I know it’s been said before but I would ascertain Southampton’s apparent interest and go all out to broker a swap deal - Kelman for Edwards.

Then how do Peterboro get their sell on fee? Southampton are not going to swap then have to pay several million on top.

Judging by the responses to the thread, the Spack Police are as prevalent as the Grammar Police on this board. Sad really...

£4m on a player who has had one good season in League 1 and has 12 months left on his contract. Sorry, not going to happen.

If he signs a new deal, then OK, if not sell him for what we can get with a big % sell on.
The ball is most definitely in his court.

Well we did get £3m for 4 goals in 40 games and 12 months left of their deal, Sinclair Armstrong. I don't think £4m is beyond reality, especially if they get multiple clubs interested

I thought we only got £1.5m for Armstrong. Possibly with addons £2m.

Anyway, if Orient were the only buyers then it would be £2m for Kelman, but if its clubs like WBA and Sheff United, then yep we could get £4m.

I would take anything over £2m as I am not convinced he's good enough. We should have bought Josh Coburn off Boro for £5m if we knew could sell Kelman. Anyway, that has gone now.

£2.5m apparently, meet you in the middle.

Regardless of who we end up with, I'm hoping for the first time in a while a QPR striker is provided with an abundance of chances. With Chair, Dembele and Poku feeding them there is no excuse really and surely the numbers back that up. I still think Celar has a lot more to give but we'll see

With all due respect I doubt if you have any idea how long Kelman's contract lasts.
I thought it was extended before the lian to Orient.
