I'm hearing that we are looking to get rid of Adam Armstrong. We are linked with young, inexperienced players who have never played in the championship. Still time to see what our squad will look like, but I think I would rather have AA than some young inexperienced player from the USA. As I've said, I hope I am wrong, but inexperienced manager, inexperienced young players. The gut feeling is that this could go horribly wrong.

Could be a recipe for disaster yet again. Let's hope that Still's lack of experience will not deter him from listening to other more experienced voices. We've already found that stubborn doesn't work.

Does anyone know how the add ons work? e.g how many games would he have to play etc.?
Add ons can work in different ways, they can be appearance based or performance based.
Appearance based might be a set number of games based on the length of the contract, so if you sign a ‘promising player’ the buying club may try to argue that the player is not the finished article or is unproven at the level they are going into so might not play a key role and therefore look to pay less. If the add on is set at let’s say +50% of games the buying Club plays and the player becomes a regular starter it would trigger an additional payment when they passed the line in the sand.
Performance related could be goals scored for a forward, or even goal involvements these days (to include assists) . So an additional payment could be triggered after a set number of goals are scored by the player in a season.
Another performance based add on could be promotion, if we go up at the end of any season within the initial contract term then an extra fee is payable.
Add ons can work for or against a club. In some cases players don’t get played by a club who would be liable to pay extra fees when they get near the threshold that triggers an additional payment, frustrating for the selling club and the player. Other times they work well and the bonus payments come through if the player turns out to be a quality find for the club who purchased him.
