Feel for the fans. So horribly run. With these kinds of restrictions and potentially most of the players terminating their own contracts you have to wonder what will become of Wednesday? And, given these restrictions and possibly a total lack of players in Augist, how many points and places they will still finish above us?

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

Aren't they currently the subject of a takeover bid from a US consortium?

They're saying that they've managed to pay most of their U21 and U18 players who are assumed to basically become the senior team now. Could definitely see Barry Bannan player-manager happening. Good luck to them

It's all very well saying players can walk away from their contract and find other clubs but what if their existing contract was their last big pay day'?
Not only have they lost a couple of months salary but if, for example, there's 2 years to go they may not be able to get anywhere near that amount at a new club, if they can even find a new club.

Clubs will know they are desperate so the cards ([c] D. Trump) are with the clubs who can offer a lower salary than if they were actively trying to buy them from Sheff Weds. The only thing a player can hope for is if two or more clubs are interested in them.

It's going to go the way Reading did unless somebody buys it, but he doesn't seem in a rush to sell it. I think there's an element of spite to it - supporters have been horrible to me so fck you all.

Probably some truth to that but talk about cutting your nose to spite your face. If anything can encourage me to swallow my pride, it's losing money.

Feel for the fans and all that but......... firsts things first..... anyone worth nabbing apart from Barry O Bannon?

Plus

When does a 24 point deduction kick in?
(Just two to find then)

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

He's 31 but I'd take Windass.

Agree. Windass would be a decent signing. He’s a proper northern boy though…not sure he’d come down to the big smoke…or how he’d handle it.

Points deductions are all over the shop aren't they? I've seen infringements punished the subsequent year, as well as the same year.

I think the FA wait sometimes, as they don't want to directly relegate a club just through a deduction

Players not paid, transfer embargo for the next three windows, no friendlies lined up etc, and I find it hard to feel any sympathy for them after their antics in 2004.

Also the way their stewards treated kick up the R's Dave Thomas that day

Poll: Shamima Beghum

I spoke to a Wednesdayite this morning. He thinks 3 of the 1st team have given the club notice. If so SW have 15 days to pay what they are owed or they can walk away.
Roll is expected to join Leicester. Hard to believe they'll get 30 points. Before any deductions.

That was 21 years ago (yikes!!) so different owners back then, a lot of staff probably no longer at the club, fans that are today not even born then or were toddlers... and so on.

But agree... fk 'em!!

That’s fans making 2+2=5. Florida consortium bid £40m but Chansiri wanted £100+.

Mate was saying this afternoon that Kieran Maguire on his recent podcast appearance says the problem is Chansiri's valuation is so mad because he's had loans from a bunch of foreign lenders that are entirely dependent on him retaining ownership of Sheff Weds as a form of collateral. So he apparently could and would sell, but only if what he could recoup from the sale would pay off his creditors.

He cannot sell the club and pay just some of that money back, because the lending terms were that he remained owner of Sheff Wed - so he's holding out for a sale fee that would cover his own debts...which will never happen, because he wanted like, 300m. Then 150m. And the true value is apparently 30-40m max.

Jesus. How can the FA, EFL and government allow people like this buy our football clubs?

I can't stand Wednesday, but feel for their fans.

Nobhead stewards and Andy Hinchcliffe aside I like Wednesday and wish them well.

Coventry too. Sides that were around the top when football was my life and before work and relationships took over.

I reckon I could still name that SW XI from 1996.

Whisper in the grapevine is that Röhl will go to Brentford as assistant to Andrews and presumably swiftly take over from him.
