Sad news indeed. A legend and the instigator of the 75/76 team

Best manager this club ever had, took us to another level.

How very sad, ahead of his time as a communicator and with Bobby Campbell as an excellent coach developed an exciting and successful football style. He managed the 'exit' of one legend, Rodney Marsh and helped talented youngsters to flourish before heralding the entrance of a new legend in Stan Bowles and the signing of Don Givens and Dave Thomas.

He built the foundations of a wonderful era for QPR. RIP

Very sad indeed. He was the architect of that great runners-up side of 1975/76 and was instrumental in player recruitment and playing style. We need to honour him in an equally suitable manner. RIP Gordon

RIP Gordon Jago, the man who got QPR established in the old first division in 1973 and brought some great players to the club during his period in charge.

Not just a bona fide QPR legend who laid the foundation for so much that came later without any desire for shamless self-promotion, but a true visionary in promoting youth development and a thoroughly decent gentleman who always gave time to startstruck young fans like myself.

I hope the club does him proud in honouring his legacy - I'm sure it will.

Without a doubt our finest ever manager. He had no real history as a coach/manager. Yet he brought us Givens, Bowles and Thomas and took us from middling second division to a real force in the first division.
RIP Gordon and thanks for the wonderful memories.

Thank you Gordon for making QPR the team that everyone associates with attacking flair and entertainment. During the seventies I met so many football fans from all over Britain and even Europe who were visiting London and wanted to take a match their first choice was Loftus Road because they wanted entertaining football.

Strong and stable my arse.

Sad, RIP indeed. Gordon Jago was the one who stabilised the team and brought success after the mess of managers following Alec Stock. I often wonder if we had gone on to win the league if he had still been here instead of Sexton. Who knows?

RIP Gordon. The only word that I can use for you is favourite.

My favourite Queens Park Rangers manager & your 1972/74 team are my favourite teams & seasons!

It was an absolute delight to watch the team that you built (with a little bit of help from Jim Gregory!).

Thank you so much for all of the memories that you gave to us.
