Tyler Dibling Situation Not Good 14:27 - Jul 13 with 1684 viewsUTS1885

As it stands i understand he is willing to see out his contract that runs to the end of this coming season. There seems to have been a bust up last season with extending this contract. We might need to sell in coming weeks for just £25m upfront with add ons up to £35M

From what was seen yesterday it seems that the sulky, 'I'm too good for this shit' attitude hasn't changed.
Just drop the spoilt little boy.

I agree and he seemed to have that attitude most of last season.

Either that or he’s simply not as good as some have built him up to be.

We will find out how good other clubs think he is in the coming weeks ,but I’d think we’d be mad to turn down £25 million odd for him.

As I understand it, and Nick can correct me if I am wrong, there is an option the Club can exercise to extend TD’s contract by 12 months for the 26/27 season. This would remove the urgency to agree to a cut price deal, that said, if we don’t do something this summer then we find ourselves in the same situation again in 12 months time but with no fallback position as I think we have this summer.

TBH, if Dibling is just going to sulk his way through the season he may as well be gone for the maximum amount we can get for him as long as that money is then reinvested in top quality players capable of helping us win the league.

IMO the current Dibling situation is largely due to his fairly new agent. He was perfectly happy here until this German prat got involved - he, and his parents, were happy to sign an extended contract, but the agent? oh no, not that greedy 🤬, nothing was good enough. Happy players are of no major financial benefit to greedy slimeball agents so in a situation like this, drip feed the poison, destabilise the player mentally and make him unhappy. That way the agent gets his seven figure commission on a big money move, sod what is in the player’s best interest as long as the agent pockets a wheelbarrow full of cash. 🤬

I think you've nailed it.
TD was just a flash in the pan, he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is.
How many good games has he had , two at the most, the rest of the time he's been a passenger.
We've over hyped him obviously to raise his profile / value, I don't think a Premier Club will come in for him unless he's a freebie.

And that is absolutely the case from what we've seen and now hear
Get what we can for him now and let him go and sit on a bench for quite a period of time and then just dissipate in to that ether where players who think they are better than that are go to
Fair play to his agent forking up a young, decent lads career, albeit lining his own and TD's pocket

No loss, get rid now, even £20m in, the club will find someone more useful

I think they already have someone more useful in Robinson, from what I’ve seen in his limited appearances

Let's just hope he doesn't get an agent with the same mindset as Dibbling's then

Dibling doesn't look to me to be the sort of player who Will Still is particularly going to want to accommodate.

He wants to play a high-pressing game with high intensity.

That isn't Dibling's game.

I suspect most fans would prefer it if we kept Fernandes rather than Dibling.

Though it could be that there aren't any takers for Dibling, and we may be forced to sell Fernandes to balance the books.

Agree with all this!

I think the club are probably asking too much for Dibling. Personally I would sell lower and agree a huge sell on fee, because then surely if he does amount to something amazing and I (and others) are wrong, then we'll still get a benefit?? I know it's. not that simple, but ...

yes, I'd rather we spent everything we could to keep Fernandes and get Robinson playing (I liked what I saw there).

You are right as I understand it, we have the option for another year and that his gaents have been stirring things up for him and not letting him sign the contract.

Yes he could ignore them and just sign, but he is a young lad and his parents aren't Barristers like JWP's father, so they are not arguing.

I don't think Dibling is sulking, I think he puts in a shift, in fairness Russell Martin knew he is a little precocious and needed to be handled softly softly whereas under Juric he found himself ostracised a little and so it's no surprise that he looked a little unhappy, but he was far from alone there.

It is sad that so many of our fans seem to be quick to slag him off, he is an undoubted talent, one of the better players in the squad and one of the few we have that have the potential to play for a truly big club.

Perhaps that is why some have taken against him, they know he will eventually leave so are not getting too attached.
