Saito 16:42 - Jul 20 with 4631 views | Jules4367 | Aside from those of you who will undoubtedly reply, he's no good is there any reason we are not looking to have Saito back?? I thought he posed a threat Separately is it me or does it already seem that Dembele is going to be in sick bay for a lot of the season?

Saito on 17:20 - Jul 20 with 4035 views | dmm | I think most of us enjoyed watching him play but were aware his numbers didn't amount to much. And we have enough, if not too many players of his type.

Saito on 19:05 - Jul 20 with 3489 views | bosh67 | Yes sadly the fee is well beyond what we can aspire to. He'll probably go to Wrexham, Birmingham or Derby, who seem to be in a far better place financially than us.

Saito on 19:17 - Jul 20 with 3422 views | LazyFan | Decent player whose stats deceive his overcontribution. Took time to settle in, which is understandable, but in the end did so and well. Helped us out of many scrapes and covered well for Chair. But he plays and can only play on the left. Here we already have ... - Chair - Kolli - Sutton - Smyth Even if we sell Kolli, we still have three players for that position. Sutton is ready; he looks the real deal. This will be his breakout season. On the right we have ... - Dembele - Poku - Smyth So, we have cover on that side, which is why Smyth is so helpful, as he can play both wings. As others have said they will want a fee for Saito, we don't even need him on loan, unless we get a mega injury crisis. If we have any money (which we don't as spent it on Poku) what we need right now is .. LB - 1st team replacement for Paal CF - Backup for Frey, who we know has a body that cannot survive the Champ whilst his misses molests him all the time. DMC - Replacement for Colback, who is too old and slow, despite being very good tactically and skillfully. This is where we should be looking right now. Get these 3 in and we should finish mid-table, which is progress for this club. Don't get these in, and we are looking at a relegation battle with a hope of 16th again. I would also as the season is less than 1 month away, offer Foxy a very much reduced terms as he can play LB reserve and also CB reserve. And our CB's get injured a lot. Hes also very useful when you need to throw on another defender and close out a game when the oppo starts lumping it.

In an amazing coincidence, it turns out that as well as being bezzies with Senora Cifuentes, Mrs Lassel also goes way back with Mme Stephan. Who'd've thunk it?

Steve Bould was working for his parent club before coming across I think so may have influence but tbh we have left side covered. The DCM position, obvious pairing is Field and Varane with cover needed. The DS cup final stand out players for me were Morgan and Tuck, and Tuck has definitely filled out, so you could argue we have it covered with those 2 noting Morgan is less a DCM more a traditional M. Suspect this will be Tucks break through season. I’m hoping Collback signs for another year though, less about pace more about timing with him

The same source it’s always been. The option price was agreed last summer and is way in excess of what we can pay. As I spent much of last season telling people, he’s got several years left on his contract and CFG don’t do cut price deals.
Saito on 21:41 - Jul 20 with 2783 views | CateLeBonR | He’s got a £7m smile. Not sure he’s a £7m footballer.
Saito on 22:00 - Jul 20 with 2694 views | rbee | We have to work under the restrictions of The Profit and Sustainability regulations so every pound counts in our transfer dealings. Although I would love to have Saito back at the club I struggle to find any positive reasons for signing him in our current situation. As dmm says '' we have enough, if not too many players of his type'' and we have other positions that require new signings. We have to replace the Championship nouse and experience of Colback and Fox. Nothing but positive memories of Koki's time playing in the Hoops and I wish him all the best. Take a bow son.

Saito on 22:28 - Jul 20 with 2540 views | derbyhoop | Last seasons squad was unbalanced with too many midgets as attacking midfield. We still have Chair , Smyth, Dembele. Vale and Sutton aren't giants. So where would Saito fit in - even if he is affordable.

I see the potential in Tuck, but I am not sure he's there yet. Needs a loan in L1 and then we shall see. Also, Varane may be sold in the future, so it would be wise to get the replacement in now, and Colback is not gonna cut it anymore, even if we did rely on Tuck.

Saito on 07:40 - Jul 21 with 1985 views | gazza1 | I liked Saito, came across as a good lad, worked for the team, had some decent performances, etc, etc BUT looking at it in the 'cold light of the day' perhaps posters negitive vibs are near to the mark. Perhaps, if we have not already done so, be saying 'thanks very much & good luck for the future'. WE certainly should not be paying 'big money'.

Ah yes. Given the breadth of lip incontinence that’s emerged, I’m beginning to understand why Cifuentes was gagged.

Saito on 10:43 - Jul 21 with 1623 views | JamesB1979 | I think his position is the one we least need a signing for. Full back, striker, centre mid….all far more important. He’s also a little small…..think we need to increase height of our forward players!
Saito on 11:55 - Jul 21 with 1425 views | robith | Loved Koki, but didn't he have quite a serious injury? We can't be paying money for someone who won't be available until Christmas

Saito on 10:48 - Jul 22 with 608 views | BklynRanger | I loved having him here, loved having a Japanese player full stop to be honest and he was a bit of a breath of fresh air. I don't have too much of a problem with his stats either. He took a while to get used to the physicality but then was generally one of our better players I thought. It's a cliche but if he'd had a bit more quality around him in the box I think the assists would be a lot higher. But [Harry Enfield Angry Frank rant] we'd have to be absolutely certifiably mental to pay money for Saito at this moment over sorting out our other far bigger problems, e.g. scoring goals and running about purposefully in the middle of the pitch.
Saito on 12:17 - Jul 22 with 404 views | kensalriser | I wouldn't worry too much, Brooks. It's pretty obvious Saito won't be returning.
