Never heard of him either, but definitely looks quick! Adding more pace and certainly looks like there's more about him then the Colchester lad.
Shit off a shovel and decent feet by the looks of it.
Plus a decent level of availability.
Plenty of work to do I'm sure, and he started slowly at Burton last season, but he looks like the perfect fit for a couple of the dinked balls over the top that were played today.
It would appear that we have signed this player based on a goalscoring purple patch from January to April 2025. That's an incredibly small sample size to part with over £1m.

Not very different from Kelman TBH. Both had their purple patches when it mattered. Kelman's goals got Orient into playoffs, Burrell's saved Burton from relegation.

Burrell, 24 yo, career total 131 app 48 goals, 1 goai in 2.7 games
Kelman, 23 yo, career total 209 apps 47 goals, 1 goal in 4.4 games
Just looking at stats not level of league standard, I kind of think these stats are pretty accurate reflection / indication of a player’s scoring ability

Gonna be a different type of player. Kelman at 5ft9 and Burrel at 6ft1 is a different proposition. With Dembele, Smyth, and Chair we were a little lightweight up top. The new boys' speed will drastically spread the field. Gives us more options tactically.

You might be right, but we don't have forwards right now who even do it in patches, purple or otherwise, so I'll take it. Speculate to accumulate etc. It's a risk, sure, but a calculated one.

Oh, to be sure. Quite different styles. Kelman was the Fox in the Box at Orient, tough to mark and harder to move. Our guy doesn't look like that kind of striker at all. Possibly more our head coach's cup of tea though.

Burrell is actually 5 foot 11 but his potential advantage over Kelman is pace.
24, went away to get first team football at a young age - albeit a low level in Scotland - and improved year on year. Seemingly found his feet 2nd half of last season and from there was 2nd top scorer in league one (behind Kelman) in a poor team. 11 goals in 26 starts is not too shabby at all.
Goals aside, he has lots of attributes we are missing in a forward - namely pace(!!), athleticism and work ethic - the latter of which you usually only get from a player that came up the hard way, and all backed up by the Burton fans who seem to speak highly of him.
Clearly he's not the answer, and I hope/expect more through the door, but for now he looks worth a punt for someone that seemingly hasn't yet found their level and brings us something different!
Also quite nice to be surprised by a transfer just getting done without the usual leaks and speculation... Whether that's down to the fact Plymouth were seemingly close, or that we've gone back to back games without a striker, but either way it feels positive to be decisive for a position of need.
That's the spirit. Whilst people have been saying that we need young, hungry players from the lower leagues like we used to then you infer they are wrong.

I am looking forward to Julien Stephan’s 💥 explosive 💥 football and assume that each fan will have a tin hat underneath their seat at the Preston game.
