Rumarn Burrell on 10:18 - Jul 27 by Northernr | The strike force desperately needed an overhaul. They're fcking crap, let's be honest. So the idea of two out and three in this week as rumoured quite excites me. We couldn't try another winter with Frey, Celar, Kolli and Lloyd, we just couldn't. Roll the dice. |
No argument from many of us about our crap strike force. They manged something like 16 goals between them last season. Here's hoping Burrell and whoever else comes in can at least double that paulty sum of goals.

Rumarn Burrell on 22:35 - Jul 26 by stainrods_elbow | You might be right, but we don't have forwards right now who even do it in patches, purple or otherwise, so I'll take it. Speculate to accumulate etc. It's a risk, sure, but a calculated one. |
Celar had a purple patch last season. It lasted 90 mins.

Wouldn't take much to double Celar's total.

I am hoping that he's still given a chance here. You never know he could turn from a caterpillar into a butterfly, as long as his hamstrings and wings hold out.

Rumarn Burrell on 08:08 - Jul 27 by DWQPR | Like the look of this lad. And even though Kelman took the headlines in League One last season his stats were 0.43 goals per match in a team that reached the play offs. And this was his third season in League One. Burrell averaged 0.36 goals per match in his first season and from the video montage looked like he was up there for assists as well. Seemed quite comfortable with both feet and when in a crossing position certainly had the mystical ability to look up to see what options he has before crossing. Speed is obviously another factor he has, which lets all be honest Kelman doesn’t. And finally if Plymouth were in for this lad, and let’s face it they have a pretty decent record of picking up decent forwards from the lower leagues. I like this signing and not particularly bothered about losing Kelman especially given that we are reportedly getting £3.5million, which when getting him for £250k ain’t bad. |
The pricier one clearly doesn't want to be here, whereas the faster cheaper one does.

Rumarn Burrell on 10:25 - Jul 27 by dmm | Just wanted to flag up the fact that Dembele has scored 4 goals in pre season, and with both feet. Poku looks like he's got the wide right slot and Stephan wants Chair to have the middle slot. That leaves the wide left slot. Dembele has his weaknesses and he'll probably have an inexperienced LB behind him, but given those goals, does he deserve a starting place? |
I'm not convinced that we can play Dembele and Poku in the same midfield, especially with Chair guaranteed the central role. Could leave us wide open, defensively.

Indeed, I get that. It'll be very interesting to see what Stephan goes for because he clearly likes Dembele, having picked him to start in all of the friendlies so far.

You highjacked the thread by bringing Madsen into it and when I highlight the error of your ways you want to move on from Madsen.....typical!!!! You need to understand that he has had a very hard time of it most of last season, like it or not he done pretty well at the back end of it and while, it may be said that players were on their holidays, he still needed to do it and he did including a very classy goal. A new season beacons and we need to give him some credit when it is deserved and not continue with the 'slagging' and inappropriate criticisms which are not correct.

Especially if Frey repeats last season, not that low a bar when u look around. I think Frey is becoming even more important, and looking earlier reckon Paul Smyth at left back could be a left field option or at worst 1st choice left side as he does give protection.

You're bang on. Right out of the blue so no prep done. Been a long time since there's been one we hadn't at least made a start on. Just editing Greg's videos now so there will be a piece today hopefully. I've got Ba written if that's any consolation haha.

And therein lies the nub of the issue. If he scores just one goal for QPR, it'll be a better return for us than Kelman mustered. I know, its a bloody tough challenge we've set before Burrell.

Frey's only going to be important if he can move about for more than an hour once every three weeks. This idea of a three-year contract extension for him while he is once again injured and has missed a whole pre-season when he would seem to need a pre-season more than anybody else seems nuts to me.

Rumarn Burrell on 10:21 - Jul 27 by Burnleyhoop | What was noticeable in the game yesterday was the amount of work and pressing Chair did in that first half. That is simply not his job. Chair will hopefully be playing behind Burrell and pulling the strings. Burrell has the pace and energy to force the press. Chair is looking fit and strong again. Expecting a great season from him, especially with the type of players now supporting him. |
Not a dig at you mate, but the messaging that Chair "holds on to the ball too long" and is a "luxury player" like Madsen and Dembele really boils my pss. He always shows for the ball, grabs games by the scruff of their neck and puts a real defensive shift in. His energy and enthusiasm has literally carried this team for the last 3-4 seasons and yet this site disrespectful him week after week. Could be why we're not allowed nice things...
