To be quite honest, we need to cut the squad down and it's money into the club. I'm happy to have a clean slate and get rid of as many players as possible from the disaster of last season. He was just ok really, had his good moments had his Shyte ones conceding a few own goals and being part of an awful defence at times. , Poland international but just ok. I’m glad he’s going to free up more signings hopefully. Thanks Janny. |  |

Janny B might not have been great but he has been our best defender over last couple of seasons.
Last time in Championship he was regarded as one of the best ctr backs in the lge & probably would have been this coming season.
Just hope that the young ctr backs we now have come good if not we're in trouble.
THB is unlikely to be here but I don't really rate him anyway, Janny B is a better defender. | | | |

Is 6.5 million a “decent chunk of money” in today’s market? Centre Backs we’re okay (ish - quantity not quality), but it is worrying with little coming in, 2 weeks before the season, we probably need a goalkeeper and some new blood in a short amount of time. [Post edited 28 Jul 18:06]

As with Jack, if he's going to be offered a contract, it makes total sense to make it longish. Both have reached their peak so they will want long contracts themselves. That means the club can trade that off against wages so end up paying lower wages. It also means that they have some residual transfer value after a couple of years when they will still be a valuable age (32 ish).
You can question whether they should be signed at all, but if they are then it only makes sense to make it that kind of length contract instead of a short one. | | | |
