At least drew? You mean won?
You could count the number of shots in the second half on one finger. We were clueless, playing long balls to no one. We weren’t aggressive and didn’t commit often enough to the tackle. It was shambolic.
Agreed, Boro were little better but they were and deserved their win by the slimmest of margins. But to suggest we should have won has me scratching my head.
i dint think I suggested winning
i think some of my posts suggest we should have had a decent pre season, we didnt gel, had no idea, no drive, and probably just one plan, wide cross and hope for the best.
just look at Bristol now on 56 min.......all up for it, probably a club with some ambition this season. then again its game one, but on todays look, its going to be a tough one,, a bad performance thsi week against crawley , who the irons beat and could get hot on here and other sites. Dog gone it!

Apologies, I interpreted ‘at least a draw’ as possibly a win. We are both on the same page 65 without a doubt.
My comments relate to what I saw today on top of our pre-season. 10 games time it may be a different story and we all hope it will be.

No problem......yep maybe a waking up today for the players and staff at least, no one wants a bad start, but I feel weve set ourselves up for one by all involved!
Personally i think weve let ourselves down by not getting Obrien, afterall it was his style that turned us around las season, and boy by today dont we half miss a driver in midfield.
idea!!! switch ronald there after todays game, get them going on theor back feet

The first two games LoB played for us were under Williams and we lost both. I'm sorry, but this pretence that Sheehan and his utter rejection of everything Williams tried to do wasn't the primary factor in our turnaround (not just you mind) is bonkers.
Not a great result today. We probably just about edged the first 45, but weren't good enough in the second. No biggie. The usual suspects will be nursing semis all night because we lost, most people understand that one game means little over the course of a season.
Still more players to come in, more players to get closer to match fitness. We'll be fine.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Time will tell, but to me the issue isn't so much Sheehan but rather losing key players and not adequately replacing them. Yes, the new recruits may yet gel, but the head coach can only work with what senior management gives him. I do not think he gets the main say on transfers. The contrast between Lewis O'Brien and Galbraith/Widell today was palpable.
I think he’s got to take his share of the blame today. He’s got a huge amount of credit in the bank and rightly so. He also had to deal with three big players in Cabango, Eom and Inoussa not being match fit. Plus we were away to a team who will probably be there or thereabouts in May, despite not looking much today.
But there didn’t seem to be any real attacking plan other than a bit of magic from Eom/Inoussa, trying to get the fullbacks to overlap or long balls to Cullen and Ronald. We weren’t creating anything through the middle and although I didn’t think any of our midfielders were terrible individually, they weren’t really a cohesive unit.
I was ok at half time, because Middlesborough didn’t really have us under the cosh at any point and we’d all have taken a draw, but from the moment they scored, we offered nothing.
I can take losing, to be honest I expected it, but I expected us to have a go. I remember hammering Steve Cooper for the playoff final against Brentford where we just accepted defeat. The second half today reminded me a lot of that, just we weren’t up against a significantly better team with ten men.

It was Your hero Fulton didn't exactly justify his selection You struggle with showing basic respect to those who view matters as you do not
Be honest , you were shocked today and simply hope that we are really not going to be like this all season
As of now, we are pitiful , disgusting really in effort and application Liam saw it as such
Wind that neck in
What respect do you think you're due? Seriously.

I agree that midfield creativity is the key to more goal chances, but I still think we are very weak up front. Two or three quality crosses came in when Swans players were in the box but they lacked the movement needed to be first to the ball. This is especially the case with aerial crosses. Cullen lacks the physical presence to compete with Championship centre backs for the high ball and Vipotnik never seems to be in the right place at the right time.
After watching the Lorient game and today ,I think it’s obvious that Jay Fulton has to make way , he slows the play down and his continually passing backwards has a negative impact on us as a team , Widell was brought in as a midfielder but has so far been wasted out wide ,give him a go in the middle for Pete’s sake

Hrs a player we should have shifted years ago A percentage player and one who offers nothing One who passes sideways , has no goals on him, can't really tackle and certainly can't " protect" his team mates He is kept by sentimentality The two Swedes looked promising and Widdell benched unbelievable

What , a serious discussion with you ! Have a look around at other dissenters ( usual suspects) You hope things get better as we all do
Like I said. Disgusting.

He’s always done that. I do like him as a player and there’s certainly a place for him in the physical games or coming off the bench to protect a lead.
If you’re going to play three in midfield though and you’re looking to pass through the middle, all three of them need to be demanding the ball, moving it on and running into space.
Fulton doesn’t do that and while Franco does, it’s not really his game either. If you start with both of them, you may battle your way to a result (as we did a few times last season in fairness) but it’s going to be difficult to construct attacks through the middle.

VIP disappointed me more than anything I'd thought he would have improved under Sheehan even knowing how to stay onside and maybe improve his 50p touch
Cullen didn't do enough to pass comment although he got a yellow card when the game was lost

I hope you spend as much time on here when we win, I really don't think you will as we only see you post match when we lose.

It's what he does. Completely AWOL in victory, here for hours if we lose. Just a reprehensible individual.
If I thought he genuinely cared about the Swans it might even disappoint, but as he can't even be bothered to go to games an hour away from where he lives I have nothing but absolute contempt for him.

Absolutely totally agree. Wrexham will finish way above us with O’Brien. I’ll say it until the cows come home, we should have built the side around him, and should have pushed the boat out for him. He’s going to be a top class box to box midfielder. Exactly what we are missing, especially after watching today’s game.

You keep on saying “The first 2 games he played we lost” So what ? The guy is going to be premiership class. Wrexham will benefit, our loss.
