I wonder if Fulton will slot into the defence, Cullen drops into midfield with Wales slotting in up front or will Cooper start and Cullen stay up top to keep our more experienced players on the pitch from the off?

Hoping Burgess takes control in the centre of the defence if there is a target man in the centre for Middlesbrough then it will be up to him to deal with him, similarly if their wingers stay out wide so do our full backs if the ball has a chance of going anywhere near them.
Against Lorient in the first half we were so passive giving their players room to strolled about and passing the ball through us at will. Want to see more of a performance akin to the second half although being a little bit more careful about committing our defenders forward making sure cover is in place when they do.

Team looks fairly strong, though some aren’t fully fit.

Surprised to see Widdell on the bench though

Fulton's been one of Sheehan's "Go-To" guys since he first took over as caretaker so not massively surprised to see him start, especially given the current injury concerns in defence. Someone he knows can do a no frills job.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

So far so good given our current team situation. Middlesbrough also have quite a few absentees through injuries so this could be a good time to play them. I'd say it has been a pretty even half, with MW's shot the closest to a goal. My sense is that there are points on offer if we could step things up in the final third.

It has been an afternoon of wandering about and no pace bar Ronald, there’s not a lot for Liam to wrote about this evening.

We were told to ignore pre season games
This game shows how we kid ourselves we are playing as we did when losing to the lower league clubs

At the mo, Inoussa looks like last season's Ronald.

He stays on his feet more than Ronald.
Not much to take out of this game. Patience needed on our part and need a few games to gel I reckon.

Usual ignorance Pete. I don’t think they know where Swansea is located.

There was promise in terms of defensive organisation, but once we had conceded we were sunk. For that long period when we were a goal behind we were unable to put any sustained pressure on Middlesbrough as creativity and penetration were just not there. The best we had were a few runs by Ronald and ZI, but there was little movement in the middle and no ability to find team mates. So overall this wasn't the embarrassment some of us had feared, but still underwhelming.

The new recruits other than Burgess added nothing to our game with Galbraith being the worst of a poor group.

Just heading home after the game. First half: Some neat and tidy play from us, but we offered very little up front. Ronald hit an effort that just went wide and Vigoroux brilliantly tipped a Whittaker effort onto the bar. Boro didn't look anything special, and were happy to hack and pull shirts whenever we tried to break.

Second half they had two corners in succession, the second of which led to a flicked header that bounced in at the far post. Had we got a marker on the post we'd have cleared it, but these days it's all about zonal marking.

Inoussa looks like he wants to take players on; Vipotnik was either static or offside.

Once the goal went in it felt like we were never going to equalise, a mobile centre forward looks essential for the wing play we're using.

Very disappointing performance from a game with Draw written all over it.First half was even and you could tell one goal would win it . We gave a sloppy goal away from a corner that Vigaroux could have prevented if he’d come for the ball instead of letting Burgess head out and you just knew it was game over .We were 1-0 down with 1/2 hour left and we were lethargic and lacked any attacking prowess and seemed happy to play pointless little tri-angles in our own half with no urgency or desire to get the ball forward quickly .we made Boro look good .We played with 2 wingers but You could count the number of crosses into the box in the second half half on one hand , Boro just seemed to have so much time and space on the ball ,were quicker in the challenges and were able to pick passes at will to players who always seemed to be in space. We are desperately missing somebody in the midfield who can make things happen because we didn’t have one today .
People can call for a forward as much as they like,if they get the same service as today ,we might as well stick with what we’ve got because even Haaland or Mbapoe would have been anonymous today
