The club is frequently at pains to tell us they have no money, so presumably we have to lose cup games that we could win money out of so they can continue to tell us they have no money.
They might not necessarily play, maybe going for the experience of a match day.
Still, isn't it better to maybe play a 16yo than say 23yo Rafferty Pedder or 24yo Shodipo? I mean, thats got to be more exciting?
I've got absolutely no problem with the pair of kids being involved, especially Trujillo. The kid's being touted as a potentially top class prospect so I'd rather he see an early way for him to first team football than lose him like Sterling, Harvey Elliott and so many others down the years

Fair enough but I'm thinking of the DS players who got a squad numbers, and even DS players who didn't, who tonight will be bypassed by 16 year olds. Why not first try out Trujillo, Scarlett, and Brunson in DS games to see how they get on? It just seems strange.

This is today's dev squad, lot of regular names missing, by my reckoning there is no Tylon Smith, Tim Akindileni, Noah McCann, Rico Kennedy, Alex Aoraha, Alfie Tuck, Lorent Talla, Matteo Salamon, Rocco Friel, Jake Leahy, Cian Dillon, Jaiden Putman...anyone I missed?

Allegedly, Branson and Trujillo, 2x 16yos, + Tarbotton(17) have travelled. Judging by the lineup for the DS @ 2pm, you could add Salamon or Warren, McDowell, Wilkie, Akindeleni, Leahy, Aohara, Talla, Tuck and Dillon.
Avg age of 1st team on Saturday was 23.3. Nourry saying "hold my beer".

I don't see why "we would all be fuming". No-one wants our players to get injured, but why would it be any more infuriating if they get injured trying to win a cup match than if they get injured during a league game or in training?
They are footballers, let them play football. We are a football club, with an aim to win competitions, let's have a go at that. Who cares if we come 16th, 19th, whatever. We've seen that many times. Latter rounds of the cups - not seen much of that.
True. They can just as easily get injured in a league game or during training, so why throw them n the towel for cup games?

I have no issues with 1 or 2 DS players with a few on the bench , but not half the team.
I really don’t understand either this notion that it seems to be ok to be injured in a league game but not ok in a cup game.
I understand totally why you don't agree with the approach but I don't understand why you can't see why they'd do it.
For instance it's a nonsense to look at the next fixture and say, well we often don't win that one as if players are only injured for one match. It could be 3-6 months - look at Ale Faurlin. Secondly what do you think Stephan is ultimately judged on? If we get relegated but reach the fourth round of the cup he's offski and unlikely to get a decent new job. If he gets us to 7th in the league but out in first round of both cups he keeps his job/gets poached.
Also average income in league 1 is around £10 million and the Championship £40 million. We haven't got a massive stadium or Tom Brady/ Ryan Reynolds to attract sponsors so we go down we could stay down. Also losing one match in the league could make the difference between staying up or not. Ask Luton.
I know counter arguments about the fans, winning mentality etc. and not saying they're wrong but same as Leicester match. timing is terrible with all the existing injuries.

Not quite a Full House. But I got 9 of the match day squad., without mentioning Pearman nor Bennie, nor Sutton. I forgot about Putman.. I wonder if McDowell, Akindeleni and Aohara are injured. Every other fcker is.

I also didnt add Bennie, who in hindsight should probably be involved. He's the best of that younger group imo, certainly physically, he just needs to pin down a position.
Pearman looks much too weak to me, atm, but looked an exciting prospect.
Really liking Burrell so far. Assist for the goal and lovely break and shot across the keeper. Could have been a tap in if someone had been able to keep up.

Didn’t Balogun used to play for us years ago? He must be far too old for the DS!
