I understand the call for wins and a cup run, but we'd all be fuming if he started a strong side and they all ended up crocked. I'd be happy with a mix of younger players and a few older ones (e.g. Nardi, Cook) if it means we have a team fit for the weekend against Watford.
We can't all say that the beginning of the season is hugely important this year and then also want no rotation of players against a pretty poor Plymouth side. |
How many times over the years have we rested players from the cup games, only to lose the league game after that?
I seem to recall we lose almost every time with an occasional draw.

I ran the rule over this last time it came up. There's no pattern, ie we are just as likely to lose a game after a cup game as any other. We've lost a lot of games over the last few seasons. |  |

I don't see why "we would all be fuming". No-one wants our players to get injured, but why would it be any more infuriating if they get injured trying to win a cup match than if they get injured during a league game or in training?
They are footballers, let them play football. We are a football club, with an aim to win competitions, let's have a go at that. Who cares if we come 16th, 19th, whatever. We've seen that many times. Latter rounds of the cups - not seen much of that. |  | | |

Myke, WLS just said there will be young players in the squad. Just like the Preston game we had Esquerdinha, Morgan, Kolli, Bennie, Sutton, Mccann in the squad. There is no difference and you could quite literally copy and paste.

Can we pls have a manager take it seriously so we can have some progression in the cup? We have been to the QF of the FA Cup once in over 25 years! Seeing as we haven't had a top half finish in the championship for several seasons, it's strange how the team approaches cup competitions, which have more chance of unexpected joys and glories ahead !!!!
But all teams do this. And yet all teams play out from the back via the goalkeeper too !!!
Much of modern football is hard to understand.
If we were to be truly radical, we would stop doing what everybody else does and do things our way and see where that takes us !!!! |  |
