Will Haywood , ok I'll leave you to it.
The presentation his case is excellent. I have never heard of him. There are statistics and statistics of course but irrespective of his politics this is slick.
Having watch Trump present data this is in another league.

He’s someone who if the Labour Party was to launch an initiative to cull all children under 2 in Wales, he’d find a way of putting it in a positive light.
20mph per se is not an issue. But there are vast areas where it is not required & the lack of signage means that nobody actually knows whether they are in a 20mph or 30mph zone. Utter & complete shambles - as we have come to expect from manyWelsh government initiatives & poor application by Swansea city council

Having spent the last week in Swansea, I’m dubious about the figures as nobody seems to be playing a blind bit of attention to the signs!
I’m not suggesting this is a bad thing either.

All urban areas with street lights u in UK in general were 30mph unless signs say other wise. I did a course. In Wales I assume the 20 mph is valid unless it says otherwise.
The doubt is part of the gig. Not sure? go to lower speed.

I did an Advanced Driving course. One of the takeaways was that if you enter a zone where the speed limit has changed then there will be big signs with the new speed limit. These signs do not exist. Hence many people are driving around at 20 mph in many areas because they don’t know what the actual speed limit is. This causes frustration & delays where they are not necessary. If we all drive less than 20mph for sure there will be less accidents but it doesn’t half make life difficult and for what gain? Some meaningless statistic to justify the Welsh government initiative …

Plus the statistics are false because they are not like for like. Why do the Senedd refuse to provide specific statistics for the roads where the speed limit has be reduced from 30 to 20 instead of lumping them in together. Something to hide? Surely if the findings were supportive of the policy the results would be provided and lauded by those who initiated the policy. It really asks more questions than provides answers.

Wont be long before we go back to the beginning of automobiles when someone had to walk in front of the car waving a flag lol
What the hell is going on over there. National Sanctuary Country, 20mph speed limits, no new road construction for 20 years cos itll harm a couple of frogs or something.
What happened to a common sense approach to things

It is common sense 800 killed or injured is 15,000 if prorata to the whole of the UK . If that farm was done by terrorists the country untilwould be in a security lockdown.
It is coming to England a Scotland very soon if the data is valid .
Bit off tangent but there is some TV advert now Peugot or Toyota promoting a new learner driver via onboard computer technology telling her she can now move away from traggic . The prompt is OK to drive now appearing on her dashboard .
Bit later in the ad her father opens his door , probably to escape to all this nonsense and she quickly narrates watch that cyclist dad , my on line camera picked it up , door shuts .
Driving skills are apalling now , seen it tonight again driving home from Work .
Car controlling the Driver , complacency and reliance on tech will overrun us .
Double declutch and engine revs to the best performance are long gone .

Learned to drive way back where it was common to double declutch , I still on occasion practice the art. I find it very strange that saving lives seems to only come about by lowering speeds , I wonder how many out of those support it drive a newish car fitted with all the latest "safety" features which includes the biggest entertainment systems with 15 inch screens .I always thought a car was a means of transportation not something in which you can watch you tube or any other viewing platform. Out of the accidents which occur how many are down to not paying attention to the road and surroundings but due to playing candy crush, anticipation and an awareness hazard perception seems to be forgotten these days.

The data is not valid as I have explained. England and Scotland are being much more sensible in there approach to the introduction of lower speed limits, they are targeting them to specific areas/zones where they are needed. Not a default speed limit across the whole of the country like has been the case in Wales (now starting to be reversed). If this sensible approach had been implemented in Wales there would have been few objections.

The mentality of the "authorities" approach to speed in Wales is neatly summed up by the A4067 between Ynysforgan and Pontardawe.
I don't think anyone would have complained if they'd erected speed cameras and maintained a previously very safe 60mph limit. But no, that wasn't enough. They had to hector people more. So we got the 40mph limit and thousands of pounds of taxpayers money wasted on cameras that were cut down. And will undoubtedly be cut down again if they're foolish enough to reinstall them (and it looks like they are).
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Haven't they gone back up mate. There seems to have been new reinforced poles back up last time I went up that way two weeks ago.

They started putting the poles back up, but it looks like one of them has been either removed or cut down again. No sign of cameras yet.

Been cut down over the Brynamman mountain road to Llandovery as well, been down a good while those though, fantastic biking rd to improve your skills, I digest, the Speed cameras on Llangyfelach rd were chopped down a while as well. I saw the one pole on the Ponty rd it had a spiky cage on top of the box section protecting the pole passed it yesterday and the pole and cage were gone, not sure it was a good idea to put that spiky thing on top of the box section so maybe thats why its gone, could be dangerous if there was an accident maybe especially if a bike was involved.

The camera s saved lives keep speeds down a catch the crazy Boy racers. The extra costs are caused by anarchists.
If you know any arsonists report them to the police.
People who have their democratic say on 2016. Anarchy does not do one any good at all. Even the street hustler will suffer.
Daily travel Pontardawe - Ystalyfera route , on occasions a Take a Chance on me journey . Especially late at night with unlit roads and no cameras , not that the small issue there would deter the boy racers .
As mentioned earlier TV screen albiet in an out of view to the drivers eyeline will be a hey whats on tele kids moment , lets have a look .
Traffic Police have never punished mobile phone users to the threat of a ban if caught . No moans you were texting whist driving , instant ban .
Looking at the quite openly drivers on their phones at major junctions in my area
They really do not care if they lose concentration of more important goss they have to catch up on .

Actually roads deaths and injuries are falling faster in England than in Wales without the Need for blanket 20mph speed limits. Just shows you can twist statistics to prove whatever you want to. The most dangerous roads in Wales are the single carriageway country lanes with 60mph limits.

I had to use a new transit van in work a few weeks back. It was awful whereas Transits used to be very good.
Itbwas awful because of all thse things, the safety features, worse was you could turn them off but had to do it EVERY time you started the engine.
There was a lane change warning, a speed warning, a collision warning. Also, you couldn't adjust the seat height, you had to alter the steering wheel. Seems stupid to me, you should be able to do both. The "safety warnings" are very distracting though, lits of beeping and things flashing up on the screen, seemed to me turning them off was the safest thing so I just ignored them.
The spped limits thing, I have been a critic and continue to be. I mean, why is the Pontardawe bypass 40 when country lanes that are narrower and bendy still national limit? They are far more dangerous. Come off Birchgrove roundabout into Peniel heading for Skewen and it's 40 but that road, it seems to me, should be 30. Speed limits everywhere need a review because some are crazy slow when others are dangerously fast. The new HOTV sections that some are 50 when it's better than the M4 up there now. It doesn't seem sensible.
