I wasn’t able to get there or watch.

Possession not too uneven and Coventry’s xG was only 1.1 according to the beeb.

Was Walsh chucking them in? Worldies? Individual errors?

The Manager & his coaches need to hold their hands up high. The team & tactics that they played was not good. Many more matches like tis & he will be history.

My concerns that I have had with him have quadrupled.....so many wrong selections.

I would not have started Walsh, Cook, Morgan, Kolli.......

Why didn't Smyth, Kone or Menbague start??

Why was Madsen left out?? He was brought on quickly at HT!!!

All down to the coaching team.

I’ve a theory that Chair has done his ACL (as rumoured)and with it being the second one in a number of weeks the players are blaming the fitness regime so are downing tools.
I think the players also know we need experienced reinforcements.
They will win the war against Nourry and he’ll have to replace his mate and change his recruitment approach or he’ll be gone as well.
Big week ahead for the clowns that own the place.

That is a very interesting theory and a possibility, I guess - I'm still recovering from the shock of today, I don't actually know i=if I'd be happy or not if your thoery turns out right.

I mean, fitness/physical prep is a mess, no doubt. So Ben Williams to blame. Nourry making decisions on everything, so he's to blame. Manager seemingly clueless about how to get us going in championship games, and a million miles from knowing what is best team is - only partly his fault as I know reinforcements should be on the way. And then players downing tools would make them to blame, too.

It is just a complete mess and sometimes I do think burning it all down and starting again would be for the best. Pride just seems to keep slipping away.

Like Watford last week , we were a complete clusterfck mess from the off ! It was all going wrong all over the pitch , unbalanced , overrun, nobody knowing their jobs , clueless ! Watford could and should have been 4-0 up at HT. all that going on and not 1 change , no tactical change , formation shuffle , react to plug gaps or identify weakness , nothing !

So another week on 2,3 , 4 down and what do we do ? Nothing , just carry on and hope for the best !
3-0 , you shut up shop , get to half time , accept the games gone and play accordingly in the hope you might get a goal back somehow .

Getting sick of saying “that was the worst performance I have seen “ only for QPR to pipe up … hold my beer !

Poorly trained, poorly prepared, poorly managed, by the 23rd minute we were beaten with no way back.

It's so easy to find fault when things go wrong, the hard part is putting things right whilst the game Is In motion.

You need a good proactive and reactive manager and a squad of players who can at a minimum pass a football FIVE BLOODY FEET to a colleague In the same team.

We're better than losing 7-1 we honestly are but the result doesn't lie.

Do not In my lifetime play like that again you bastards, and that goes for you too French bloke, sort It out.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

We knew Paal was going 6 months before the season started.
It's a disgrace that we didn't get a proper replacement. Larkeche could have been a failure so, it was risk even if he was fit. Complete crackers. And we let Fox go, which means we had no back up either.

Then there was no replacement for Colback and clearly Varane is not fit yet. Field is on his own. Then the youngsters are not ready, Esq, Kolli and Walsh.

But up there with missing LB is that we need a number 9 as an outfield ball, as clearly we are not good enough to play out. Kone should have started. A false number 9 does not work for us; we sometimes need to hoof it and get someone to hold it up there.

We play a false 11

A mate watched the goals and reckons our lot looked like they were playing for a Pakistani bookie. Probably not true but gives you an idea of just how rubbish we were.

I just got back from the game, train strikes meant that what should've been a 40 min journey became a 3 hour trek each way through Milton Keynes. This was my first game back after spending the majority of this year abroad, I can't explain how excited I was. I'd watched every game possible while outside the UK and came back absolutely desperate to see QPR live again.

The game was so demoralising and crap that towards the end I just felt indifferent, I wasn't angry or upset, it just felt expected almost. This feels like a soulless QPR. Nourry has turned our club into a corporate shell, fixtures don't matter, points don't matter, cups clearly don't matter, it's like everything a football club should be has been pushed aside to focus on 'profits' and that's all. Its all in the term 'project', implying that QPR is someone else's plaything, someone's work-in-progress or money-making business, but QPR is so much more than that to US. Our club is our reason to look forward to weekends, our communities, our families, and our lives. It's insulting what we've been turned into.

Something has to change. Someone is going to have to walk we through this absolute mess of a fitness regime we have -- we're losing a key player a week at this rate, precious few players can complete more than 60mins and Dunne's having to play close to 70mins while clearly unfit.

I'm very interested to see what happens at this open training, if they don't cancel it.

A total lack of fitness and a complete lack of understanding of how to defend pretty much sums it up.

First up Coventry will be one of the top teams this year, pains me to say that with Lampard in charge.

We were tactically and physically exposed today. They set up to make the pitch so big, from their goal kicks full backs and wingers were on the touchline giving so much space for them to play through us which they did at will. They have obviously watched us and seen how unfit we are which is a disgrace for a pro football team.

I was there with a mate who is not a QPR fan, after ten minutes he said to me that if you don’t change the way we’re playing we would get stuffed. My worry is the manager did nothing tactically until it was 6! We keep trying to play out from the back when it obviously not working, there is nothing wrong with getting your defence up the pitch and going long when you are struggling to get into the game and look like conceding from your own goal kicks.

Left with a couple of minutes to go and missed Kone’s first QPR goal, less hope he allowed to start against Charlton and we start to play to his obvious strengths.

1) a complete lack of fitness compared to other professional football clubs we come across, in terms of (as Brian broke down): speed, strength, stamina. Williams needs firing and we need someone else in.
2) playing out from the back: our players are not fit enough, not well drilled enough, and possibly not technically good enough to execute it…and our goalkeeper certainly isn’t. Forget the game model, go back to normal goal kicks and competing for the first and second ball around the half way line. Play from there. Cifuentes had to, and so will Stephan.

I think those two are by far our bigger issues at present.

Walsh has never been considered good enough under consecutive managers. Why is he starting now? He's not even good with his feet.

Baffling isn't it. We can't string 3 passes together yet we think we can start all the way back at our gk passing to CB's. Get it long and get a foothold in the game first. Win your battles all over the field then let's think about tippy tappy goal kicks.

Partly the coach of course but remember he has Steve Bould with him. Bould not being around on matchday is another conversation.

As I said elsewhere the team has a weak spine

Walsh/Nardi - Bang average keepers
Cook - 34 years old with young Morrison next to him
Field - Needs another Field alongside him
Kone - New to the club and Championship

Clive, myself and a few others kept mentioning the midfield before the season started especially when it became obvious Colback had gone. Number 1 priority before the window shuts, experienced midfield players, thankfully Eb's is officially now a Gooner.

We most certainly do not need another Field. He is bang average, and we need someone who can actually progress us up the pitch.

It’s a tough one to put your finger on Danny.

We have had probably one of the best transfer windows in decades, we’re pretty much all excited by some of the signings, and yes we have injuries to key individuals, but they went out and played like they all just met for the first time at 3pm yesterday…

Much like how we begun last season, you can’t see a plan, no strategy to our game…

Just awful - never before has Norf’s phrase about ‘QPR not being allowed nice things’ been so apt - at times yesterday I was laughing - just stupefied at how poor we were… but it isn’t funny, I know that, it’s just been a joke for far too long.

I applaud Nourry for having a strategy for the club off the pitch - bring in youth, develop and sell to make us sustainable etc, but it’s like he’s unwilling to ‘slowly slowly catchy monkey’ and blend this with some tough, experienced types to lead our young guns on the pitch. Yes, Sam field is experienced, but he’s not a leader. On the face of it, I like Dunne as our captain - he’s a club man, a real fan favourite, but he hasn’t been there, seen it, done it. Cook kind of has, but I get the feeling he’s a bit shot… we need a sprinkling of bastard in there for the young guns to look up to.

Yesterday was as poor as it’s ever been, and I know all teams get an absolute thinking every so often, but this wasn’t an aberration, this was really bad in amongst other bad performances recently - like when they spent years building a vessel to get to the ocean floor, only to get there and find the Mariana Trench… this was that level of ‘oh shít’…

I think we have a decent coach in Stephan, but QPR has killed many a decent coach over the years, and already I’m hearing calls for him to go, but for now and always, maybe it isn’t the coach - there is something at this club that we still haven’t been able to eradicate - like a toxic brain bug that makes a coach like JS pop Madsen on when times are tough… I want him so badly to succeed, I feel for him, but I’m not sure it’s there, and at 6-0 he wouldn’t be the fella I’m pinning my hopes on to sure up the midfield… pfffft, I haven’t a clue.

I think if we have everyone fit we have, certainly in an attacking sense, a formidable line-up, but perhaps with 1 week left of the transfer window, this might be the time for Nourry to go and get some experience in the centre and in the back line?

Honestly, just so bereft of hope right now for this season - another rickety, condemned rollercoaster awaits… ‘are you sure this is alright’ Kone says to Field, as they are strapped in the cart, Field shrugs ‘it must be, listen to all those screams of excitement’…

Not enough championship level players in the squad.

Too many Dev players signed (masquerading as squad players) who, at this moment in time, can not step up.

No leadership.

No physical presence.

No understanding of the championship from a management perspective

No resilience

Too many first team players not fit/ out of form

Supporter apathy

Pet project and a narcissistic CEO

Think I've covered everything

Got a schooling from a Coventry team who are the opposite of everything we are. Fit, strong, top end championship players front to back - (What I would give for a Matt Grimes in our midfield)

unfortunately, i don't think it will be the last pumping if we stick with some of these.

Most times we had the ball we gave it away.

If there was a 50/50 we lost it.

Every goal kick we created a panic at the back and hoofed it/lost it.

Our “midfield” was wide open at all times and straightforward to bypass with simple passes forward

Football basics

Exactly this…

What went so wrong today? on 11:14 - Aug 24 with 206 viewsR_from_afar

Another perennial issue reared it's ugly head again yesterday, poor finishing. In over 90 minutes of football, we had 10 shots but only one of them was on target. I have long had the feeling that, as a club, we often forget about the basics, perhaps because the players feel they are beneath them or because the coaches think they seem too dull and/or old-fashioned. I fear we may be overcomplicating our preparation.

Actually, this brings me onto a broader issue: I see signs of the problems you often get when the people organising an activity or process aren't involved in actually carrying it out.
- An obsession with theory with no provision for changes if plans aren't working in practice, i.e. during a match
- Too many people involved; there comes a point where throwing more people at a problem overcomplicates things to the point where it becomes difficult to make progress
- Nonsensensical reporting lines, e.g. effectively reporting to two people, with the less appropriate of the two being *the* boss.

The big chief - Nourry - is trying to control the football matches when he is not actually involved in them, we've thrown too many people at the problem, we've forgotten the basics and we're making it very difficult for the general on the battlefield - JS - to do his job because he's under pressure to stick to plans drawn up in the war room and some of his lieutenants aren't under his control or even on the battlefield.

Having an overall strategy is very important, but on match days, the head coach/manager needs to feel that he can take control and change things on the pitch to suit the circumstances, even if that means temporarily abandoning the agreed strategy. Not everything can be planned in advance, teams have to be ready to adapt to how things are playing out on the pitch. I'm not sure this happens at the moment.

A final thing is that having hands-off, remote owners - very benevolent owners, I have to say - doesn't help. I feel like they're not seeing the sheer complexity of the structures, methodologies and processes being put in place.

Or perhaps it's just the curse, as Bluce often says...

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
