He is the one they need really, one of the only players we have who could make this game model work but he is just too slow and ponderous and too easily bullied off the ball |

I reckon you’d really have to build the whole team around Madsen for it to work and that means everyone else would have to put in a massive shift each week to cover.
You would have to consider dropping anyone else that doesn’t cover well (like Dembele) and stretch the team to breaking point. That would probably mean more injuries than we already have.
I suspect it could work for a few games until the oppo cottons on and then we’d back to square one again. Maybe worth trying once or twice against teams that don’t press much but I think medium to long term we are probably going to see him to do a Celar at some point. |  |

When we signed him Kevin Gallen said several other clubs had looked at Madsen and decided he wasn't a Championship player. Of course we signed him and what a coincidence he played well towards the end of the season. |  |

He looked good in those dead rubber games where he had time and space on the ball, I think that may have fooled them into thinking he can do that all the time but as soon as teams press him he disapears

No he didn’t. He started against Oxford and Ashby came on as sub. We beat them 3-1 and he played well getting an assist. | | | |
