I just seen Grimsby playing at home to Man Utd and the whole first team squad for Man Utd is playing or on the bench. Everton are at home to Mansfield tonight. Players such as Jack Grealish in Evertons team. Obviously, they coild both field a second team squad that could win these matches.but they dont.
As a club, we really should take the cup games seriously.
Its not as if we have been chasing any type of glory in the league.
The Cup games are our chance for a bit of fun and the fact that we throw these every.single season for actually no evident genuine reason at all, has been a disgrace over many many years.. Protecting players is clearly absolute tosh. They get injured in training or warm ups anyhow.
I hope when the FA Cup is on, we should play a first team squad.
Manchester United are doing this tonight against Grimsby away.
Its an insult and the club need to do better with this.
I hope this point is raised at the next fans forum as a weakened squad in the FA cup is only going one way.
Do i expect the club to take this on board - no i dont - not at all.
Only watched the shootout - brilliant from eveyrone in fairness.
Man Utd bringing everyone in football rays of sunshine on an almost weekly basis!
This is what annoys me so much about not taking Cups seriously - it's literally pretty much our only chance of some joy and doing something each season. I couldn't agree more with numpty and I will never ever understand it - I don't even think it make sense fitness wise either. Just mad.
Man Utd’s new £70m striker taking the tenth penalty. Don’t trouble yourself will you mate? Only Captain Calamity over there and Fred the Red left to go, perhaps you might like a shot?

Manager sat and hid from the penalties
Hoorah!
Seriously poor that the manager hides away and doesn't watch any of the shoot out.
Its almost saying to his players - i expect you to mess this up.
Surely its at these moments you want your manager to inspire confidence in his players. If i was a follower of Man Utd, would be seriously peed off about this weird behavior from Amorin.

I mean it's just crazy. I'd be terrified if I supported them - I watched a bit when he came on vs Arsenal and thought he looked awful, first game, new team ,league and all that I know too early but....and now hiding here. Hmmm.
For all the abuse Maguire gets, he never hides and has got quite a few late goals for them.
I said to my mate about him being 10th pen taker... insane! How can a striker not back himself to take a penalty, especially when you are worth 70 million quid!... At least he scored... At least when Celar couldn't find a goal he wanted to take a Penalty and backed himself... great result

Let's have it right, first half Grimsby were by far the better team there. Played the better football, created more and better chances, much better shape and organisation, much better passing. Deserved to lead 2-0. Second half not so much but still it needed United to get a typical treat from the referee to stop it going to 3-0.

Yeah Grimsby won, but they will probably lose their next league game. So obviously still quite pleased with our attitude to cup games
Passion, pressure and belief just shows what you can achieve, well done Grimsby. Man Utd really have become a basket case club, throwing very expensive mud at the wall and hoping it sticks.

Yeah odd that one. And arguably his penalty was the best of the lot.

I am no big fan of VAR but this reminded us of the ‘good old days’ where big clubs, especially ManU always got the marginal and contentious calls in their favour.

Grimsby owners here. Two local guys, bought the club on the bones of its arse in the Conference. Building the club back up with a focus and priority on building the support base, being part of their community and bringing joy to the town. Great manager as well.
