I’m glad he didn’t go of course, but news now and next week changes. He always had something and many will agree he does. It’s just that for some reason it’s taken a whole year for him to see and feel his worth. |

Vipotnik did about as well as he could under Williams. None of our attacking players stood out under that dipstick, yet apparently he is the only one for whom it was his all own fault. It's Perchy level scapegoating, and the people doing it should know better than that.
I don't claim to get everything right about football, but I'm rarely wrong about a player. I saw enough in Vipotnik last year to suggest he was capable of 10-15 goals a season given decent support and the backing of his manager, and said so plenty of times. Sorry, but the idea that he'd never played well for us at all until the Watford game is pure fiction. |  |

We have been through this doc, he had loads of minutes last season, its in black and white, just look for yourself at the games and minutes he played, still with all those minutes on the pitch he never set the world on fire, he didnt change his way of playing when sheehan took over from williams and he didn't change when this season started, I remember watching when he came on at boro he hardly moved out of the centre of the pitch, he played exactly how he played last season.
He was a totally different proposition when he came on against Watford, it was clear to see the difference in him.

Cullen is plainly not good enough as a striker. Never has been. Scored fewer goals last season from that position than Vipotnik. It's looking increasingly like his success in midfield was a flash in the pan too. Sheehan publically throwing his support behind him was a massive mistake, and based on his hapless display as a substitute on Saturday it's one Sheehan clearly hasn't completely learned from yet.

As i have told you vip had plenty of minutes last season yet didnt shine, altough i agree with you re cullen, he isnt a striker and definitely isnt a defensive midfielder as was noted on Saturday (no idea what sheehan was thinking)
If cullen was picked in front of vip, especially last season, when he did quite well, that shows that vip wasnt upto scatch.

I remember watching a 22 years old Adebayor for Arsenal. He was Bambi on ice in his first season..He was getting ruthless criticism. Within 18 months he was a gowls scoring monster.
Piroe struggled 19-21 but kicked on at 22 at Swansea. Then there was useless Victor. ( "Never did anything for us") " How could we gave guessed he would turn out so well". Some do some do not.
