Zân Vipotnik Transfer : Our March report on him leaving in the summer seems to on 14:19 - Aug 30 by Whiterockin | If Vipotnik improves possibly, with Cullen up front I doubt it. We would need to score a lot of goals from midfield and change our system possibly playing with "a false nine". It's immaterial anyway as we are signing a wow forward. |
That ship has truly sailed with Guebbels at the helm.

Zân Vipotnik Transfer : Our March report on him leaving in the summer seems to on 22:28 - Aug 31 by Fireboy2 | They have played a fair few minutes together Doc, mostly during the friendlies. Its strange that vip didnt even get on the pitch for the Sheffield United game, then all of sudden he gets the equaliser in the Watford game after a great 15 min or so cameo, i do wonder what happened in that week between those two games 🤔 I just think that this event has spurred him on, his movement on sat was brilliant, like a true no9, in every game ive seen him play i havent seen him move as much as yesterday's game. You are right though mate, everyone has an opinion, its just that mine is correct 😉 Anyway nos da. [Post edited 31 Aug 22:33]

Zân Vipotnik Transfer : Our March report on him leaving in the summer seems to on 22:17 - Aug 31 by Dr_Winston | As good as LoB was, he wasn't a creative midfielder. Also I can't be bothered to check the figures as this debate is becoming a bit dull, but I doubt Vip's path crossed with Inoussa and Galbraith all that much prior to the Watford game. I think we need to call a truce here. I don't think Vip had anything like a fair crack of the whip last season, was blamed for a lot of things that simply weren't his fault, and despite that he still ended up with seven goals. Given the backing of his manager and decent service from the rest of the team I don't doubt that he's capable of at least doubling that tally, which would be a very decent return. Others might disagree, and that's fine, no matter how much I might feel like arguing to the contrary when I'm bored. |
I think this is a sensible suggestion. We can probably all agree that last season has gone, Vipotnik has been a different player since the Watford game and we all hope it continues.

hope you are wrong, if he does leave it would be his choice i think as the club want him here, and in my opinion would be a big mistake as he will improve and learn a lot from this group of players and coaches, but time will tell

Im 50/50 on vip, yes he has finally shown what he can do but will he settle back into how he was? If he stays in hope he doesn't but if he is going to leave then surely we have 2 strikers coming in. Bloody hell, today is going to be a mare 😳

I understand but at least we know him now ( I hope ) Where as any new player, even one our recruitment team have done extensive work on, is still a gamble ?

Slovan Bratislava is a step down. He might get more money but not much more. I was hoping after a slow first season he would start this season on fire and he has. These players are rare There are no centre forwards in the Sheared Hartson mould in Wales. Young Harvey Grey is in the u18 and is tall and presumably still growing. Swansea have huge problems finding no 9. Moving Vipi on when it is not needed is bad business just as he is finding form and linking well with Ronald..

He’s not like Shearer or Hartson. Can you see Vipotnik bullying centre backs all game or Hartson scoring the kind of goal he did Saturday on his weaker foot?

Think you are doing Hartson a disservice questioning whether he could finish with his left he was at a level were you had to be competent on the floor because of his stature Wales tried used his height too often neglecting his other sides to his game that could have been been used to Wales advantage. As for bullying centre halves that is what a centreforward needs to do, if Cullen can try to do it why not Vipotnik although his aerial challenges under the high ball have been woefully but that might not be what he is being asked to do bring it down, hold up play but to what ends a easy pass to non existant midfield players who either sit too deep or have gone beyond him leaving with no options except to make a better fist of the aerial challenge which he obviously struggles with at the moment. He is getting in front of his defenders now be it for his headed goal, near post runs.balls to feet in space with him facing the goals to make the wrap around runs that lead to goal scoring chances on both left and right feet. Let's no go overboard yet he still has a lot to learn but that was hard to do in a team that was struggling to function properly. We saw last season with the progress made under Sheehan we still looked blunt against Burnley and at the Middlesbrough this season, new players have been introduced things look up but Sheffield Wednesday are struggling, nice to see Vipotnik and Ronald get on the score sheet and if we can keep the goals against down like the end of last season I think we have a season to look forward to. With a rejuvenated Vipotnik with a point to prove.

Not whether Hartson could finish with his left. Whether he used to score goals like Vipotniks on Saturday. Running wide from a central area, behind the defender so Inoussa could play him in, then shooting from an angle. Hartson may have scored goals like that, but it was far from his bread and butter. The bullying defenders thing is exactly why Hartson and Shearer are such weird comparisons. It was a huge part of both of their games.
Zân Vipotnik Transfer : Our March report on him leaving in the summer seems to on 11:25 - Sep 1 with 1282 views | Landore_Jack | BBC Swansea, meanwhile, look set to hold on to Vipotnik despite strong suggestions that the Slovenia international would be sold in this window. There had been interest from Europe in Vipotnik, but Swansea now seem set to hold on to the 23-year-old despite the imminent arrival of Idah. Vipotnik has just enjoyed his best week since joining the Swans in the summer of 2024, scoring three goals in the club's past three games.

Vardy is quite happy to put himself about all part of a centreforwards game, make it as differcult as possible for the centre half. [Post edited 1 Sep 11:51]

Oh FFS you’ll cling on to anything just to reassure yourself that your opinion of Vipotnik being a shit player is right. What an ego you have! Williams was to blame with atrocious tactics - Sheehan improved those but didn’t have the luxury of the midfield he has now - which has provided the ammunition for Vipotnik to score 3 in 3 (unlucky not to score 2 on Saturday as it happens). You know damn well it’s true but you’re just not big enough to admit you were wrong. Pitiful, especially when the man is helping the team progress. WTF is your problem? Seriously??

He can but his heading ability has been poor He has proven he can now though He s also shown he can give a telling pass He’s improved and if he stays and proves some wrong, so what I’ve never minded being wrong ever so long as the Seans prosper Being seen to be “ right” on forums is for egotistical clowns I truly hope VIP stays

No. You are genuinely blaming a manager who was sacked in February for an entire season. I question that and I’m ’clinging on to anything’. Talk me through that bit champ

He’s had a good start to the season and believe me I hope it continues. The point I was making is that as a centre forward Im looking for certain attributes that I don’t think he has - strength/ hold up play, aerial ability, quick over 5 yds, anticipation, consistent ball striking. He can obviously hit the ball but If he could produce 6/7 out of 10 on the above then we’d have a good player on our hands. I hope he goes on to prove me wrong.
