But, we have the same problems as last season.
Poor Goal keeper.
No leadership at the back.
No decent holding central midfield player.
No target man up front that can score regularly

My worry is that under Still, I have yet to see us put in a full 90 minutes of decent football. We manage the odd period in a game but considering we are supposed to be one of the strongest sides it's worrying.
And I include pre season friendlies.
I hope we see a big change once the new players bed in, but so far I have not seen any positive influence from Still. Same old mistakes and issues. |  | | |

I get what you're saying. There doesn't seem to be any indication of what a Will Still team looks like. It's a bit of passing, a few long balls, the kitchen sink at the end of games, crosses into the box, a few long throws, basically a bit of everything. It's a bit chaotic, and the jury is still out on the manager.
It's fair to say that he needs time to sort out the sh!t show from last season. But the doubts are creeping in. It is a bit worrying. We have some very good players that at the moment are struggling to won games. He is a very young inexperienced manager, and the pressure will build. It is expected that this club gets promotion this season. He seem a little bit weak, just says that the transfers happen upstairs. Perhaps he needs to put his foot down a bit more, but that's why he was brought in and not a manager that would be knocking on the chairman's door demanding a striker etc. [Post edited 30 Aug 21:20]

We are a club with a long top flight history, a decent stadium, plenty of money and some very supportive fans, hence there are no excuses for failure any longer.

I know where you're coming from and that was my general feeling when we came down, but unfortunately the Premier League now is so far ahead of the Championship that they might as well separate themselves from us mere lower division mortals and have a boring no ups and downs league.
Ok, Sunderland and Leeds may make a go of it, but will our current ownership splash the cash on a few £30 - 40m players (minimum) if we do go up as would be required? And would they be good enough anyway with the mistakes made on our sales earlier
