At no point have we stated he’s a Swans player. Just for info.He may well be but we’ve never hinted he is.

Unbelievable compared to the complete amateurs we had previously, yet some could see no wrong in them. Did we have a farewell statement from Coleman?

I’m convinced that if these guys had taken over from Jenkins and Morgan, we’d never have left the Premier League.

The difference since Levein and Kaplan left is staggering.

It seems that we actually signed Samuels-Smith from Chelsea.
Having left Chelsea 33 days ago to join Strasbourg for £6.5 million on a permanent deal, he rejoined Chelsea yesterday permanently before joining us.
Bizarre.

A club who deemed De Bruyne, Salah & Geuhi amongst others surplus to requirements. Strange club are Chelsea

"Chelsea exercised the buy-back option in Ishe Samuels-Smith's contract at Strasbourg and have now loaned the defender to Swansea City.

As exclusively reported on football.london in July, Strasbourg signed the 19-year-old defender in a deal worth around £6.5million, but Chelsea have now opted to bring the Cobham graduate back to the club via a clause in his contract. Ben Chilwell moved to the BlueCo-owned French club on deadline day on a permanent basis, ending his five-year association with the Blues, and it became clear that Samuels-Smith would be moving to Swansea on a season-long loan to pave way for the experienced English left-back."

"Sources have told football.london that Chelsea made the decision due to the lack of pathway for Samuels-Smith at Strasbourg. Initially, the French club signed the defender with Ismael Doukoure, who plays in a similar role to Samuels-Smith, looking set to leave amid a contract standoff. However, Doukoure decided to stay and he ended up extending his contract at Stade de la Meinau - blocking Samuels-Smith's pathway somewhat, and with Chilwell signing for the Ligue 1 side, there were even more obstacles for the teenager."

"BlueCo still view Samuels-Smith as a big part of the project and decided a loan move to Swansea - that is a straight loan without any option/obligation to buy - was the best option for the versatile defender. Sources close to Samuels-Smith have told football.london while the uncertainty and events surrounding his future are a lot for the 19-year-old to deal with, there is a confidence he will grasp his opportunity at Swansea in the Championship."

"There seems to be much excitement from the Swans as well. Head coach Alan Sheehan said: "Ishe will provide valuable cover in a position where we have been short of options. He is a hungry young player who is excited to make the most of this opportunity."

"He joins us with considerable pedigree at academy and youth international level, and we are pleased to have him with us."

"Director of football Richard Montague added: "The need to bolster our options on the left side of defence has been well-documented, and we believe the addition of high-quality cover in Ishe will be important for the season ahead and in allowing us to continue to assess this position ahead of future windows."

"Global head of analytics and recruitment Adam Worth (Agent Dimi??) said: "Ishe will give Alan and his staff an additional natural option on the left side of defence, an area where we have long been aware of the need to add greater depth, and that process will remain ongoing as we look to the future."

So Chelsea took him back because of a lack of a pathway at Strasbourg, is he expecting to be first choice instead of Tymon?

I think Tymon is excellent going forward but lacking slightly defensively. He provided a lot if assists last season, but with the options we now have throughout the team will we be as reliant on Tymon. Competition will only up the performance of the players.

Alexandra Isak drama realises a hand shake is no longer a deal clincher any more .
The days of a motorway service station cup of coffeee late at night are long gone .

Due dillegence and small print checking of a contract signing seems to be a Football Clubs first priority , he is our asset so you pay up for his skills .

Sadly some footballers throw their toys out of the pram if they do not get their own way .

I think Tymon is excellent going forward but lacking slightly defensively. He provided a lot if assists last season, but with the options we now have throughout the team will we be as reliant on Tymon. Competition will only up the performance of the players.

Tymon wad one of our best players and his role has been as a wingerbacl.similarly to Key and yet we play with a back four so if they are both asked to support the attack they will leave spaces in defence for opposition wingers to expose and therefore need good covering either from the centreback and midfield but to do that at least two midfielders must have the pace to match opposition extra men joining to attack especially if we want to cover the cross field ball to opposite wingers which holds our other full back in place providing he isn't bombing forward like a wingback. Playing like wingbacks with four at the back is a flawed notion look at the scoreline against Leeds at home last season they push their wingers and fullbacks up with very little cover as did we hence the goal fest. In the away game we tightened things up but still both teams conceded late goals again.
You cannot expect the fullback to not expose their defensive position if you are asking them to make up for deficiencies in attack especially without adequate cover at the back.

In a number of games this season our fullbacks in defence mode have been asked to hold infield to cover the centrebacks especialy against teams who push the extra players forward leaving opposition wingers hugging the touchline and having plenty of space to recieve the ball and it hasn't necessarily been quick ball, Tymon, Key and Parker, who to be fair has played well, have all been caught ou being out numbered on the flanks.
It is early days yet but Stamenic seems to know his role in that midfield trio to hold deep to support the defence but also know when to push up into midfield add the busy talents of both Franco and Galbraith the midfield seems to be operating well, add the problems caused by Inoussa' and Ronald play Vipotnik resurgence we are causing teams problems which they have to deal with instead of easier nullifying any threat we pose. That leaves space all over the pitch and if you have quality you can expose that if you are setup properly but so will can opposition teams with quality .
So is it a flaw in Tymon's defensive skills or a flaw in how the team is functioning as a whole?
Got to have a setup that match the players at your disposal hoping the incoming players can match the quality that fans expect of them as well as the coaches.

I expect the role of the full backs to be slightly different this year, with more assists coming from further forward than Tymon. I also feel that Samuels-Smith hasn't come here purely as back up to Tymon, Chelsea wouldn't have called him back from Strasbourg to sit on the bench here. With all the players at Sheehans disposal some players are going to feel put out.
